hehe... would mean a lot of explaining... like wth would machines need a paradise of their own artificial real world? xD

In the story, the machines really lost the war but the human's still needed to keep the machines under control, so they created a super matrix where humans think they are the last survivors, and then a matrix within the supermatrix to make the machines think they've won the war. It explains it all in the script, pretty cool.

that sounds almost too much like the story behind The 13th Floor.

i mean, why would the machines need to be pacified into thinking they'd won a war? it seems precarious, at best. talk about holding onto a tiger's tail!
