Represents the power divide of our real world.
In terms of our computer generated world the
internet there are a lot more whites plugged
in then non whites. If we take that to a possible
future where the internet has evolved to
the matrix simulation the ratios will be
pretty much the same.

In the movie slavery only came into effect when the matrix was built. To me the only perfect world where no one would have suffered as much would of been the real world..

There is non truth being told when smith says that the machines wanted to create the perfect world. The roles had been reversed when the machines became the slave drivers.

It was good for a time in the real world, That would be no lie.

But smith being one of the Agents of the evil empire would not be truthful in what he preaches.. Smith drunk with power with the evil puppeteers pulling the strings from behind the scenes...

That's completely incorrect. According to Agent Smith, human beings define their reality by the amount of misery they experience (more harry potter fans felt they could better relate to harry after reading book 5 in which he suffers more than ever before) which he explains is why in the previous matrix people kept waking up from the eutopia-like matrix the machines had designed.

Therefore, if what you are saying is correct then there would be more white people in zion than black or asian people because they would be the ones rejecting the eutopic dreamworld.

I dont think there´s an especific reason, more than esteticall, i mean in the city we only see white people with suits like robots, and in Zion black people or asian, but i think they did it to show like a contrast between our wild side and our role in society.

cool .. but more primitive? nah i don't think so. Doesn't really fit in with all the high tech ships, machinary and weapons they create to help them survive in their environment let alone fight off sentinels - and let us not forget hacking into the matrix.
Besides it takes a substantial amount of money to get a film like this made and put out there. You can't leave an important issue like casting up to chance when you're gambling with money (especially when it's not yours). Every part of these films was planned in great detail.

The people of Zion are probably survivors from the whole planet and therefore represent a variety of cultures. if you took a sample of say, 100 humans from the earths population, a large proportion would probably come out as asian/black (as suggested), hence this spread....

Wouldn't that depend on what region of the world Zion is below though?

According to Agent Smith it is HIS belief. And he didn't specify who suffers just as long as suffering is present. But again, this is his take on it.

But we have already been told that a eutopic matrix failed for that precise reason. Human beings just couldn't accept it. If Taisou was right then, as I have already stated the majority of individuals in Zion would not consist of people of colour.

Writers will consistently drop clues throughout a story to impart information and give clues and this piece of discourse between Morpheus and Agent Smith is there specifically to give the viewer information.

That's the second silliest thing I've ever heard. While there are points often being made in the Matrix through character dialogue, those points often come at the intersection of ideas. For example, Locke sees the struggle one way, Morpheus another. Neither character is necessarily seeing it the way that the Wachowski's are seeing it. Both characters are seeing it in specific ways that the Wachowski's want to have us observe interacting. But the Matrix is far from didactic.

And the reason we say this, Mavis, is because Smith isn't the only character to give his take on why the first Matrix failed.

You're being given a couple different pov's. Then you are shown how one or both fit (or are completly off the mark). Then you start to see a point about pov's in general.
