»different types of programs«

It's clear from the Matrix movies and video games that there are several different types of sentient programs living in the Matrix, each defined by some unique ability.

1. There are the Agents who have the unique ability of possessing people who are still part of the Matrix.

2. There's Smith who has the unique ability of copying himself into any other being like a virus.

3. There are the Twins, who have the unique ability to dematerialize.

4. There are Blood Drinkers.

5. There are Lupines.

6. There are the Succubi.

What unique characteristics or abilities to Blood Drinkers, Lupines and Succubi have? Can Lupines really turn into wolf-like monsters like traditional werewolves?

What other types of programs are there? What types of program are Merovingian, Persephone, Seraph and Sati? What about the Oracle and the Architect? Or are they all unique?

blood-drinkers have the ability to drain your health with a bite. Lupines do have characteristics of a beast, such as less control of temper, sharp claws and more aggressive, beast-like posture. Succubi, in the story have more of a controlling, deceptive, persuading attitude.

Do we know more about their origins ? Why do they look like that ?

Are all the Vampires, lupines, etc. old programs ? Or even newcoming exiles can turn into Vampires/lupines, or whatever they choose to become ?
