As usual, I have no idea if this is covered.

The real hollywood ending.

Neo and Smith would only be equal if Neo has the ability to clone, and fight Smith in equal numbers. This would have been the powers granted by the Deus Ex Machina to defeat Smith.

While Smith was being outnumbered by Neo's clones, the clones would gradualy go back to the original person. In the end, there would be only one Neo and one Smith.

The fight would be like in Revolutions, but with human spectators kind of understanding what was going on.

In the end, Neo would use some human emotion like love or hope to recover from a building falling over him. Then he kicks Smiths ass so badly we all feel sorry for him. And the war is over.

The aftermath would involve the body of trinity brought back to life by the machines, and any brain damage removed and her mind restored from one of the backups the Architect made.

I've seen it twice and cried twice... Cool

Isn't it interesting that all culminates to Neo vs. Smith but there is nothing new in the fighting?

It is still 1 Smith vs 1 Neo

The only difference is that Smith can fly.

I spent all my tears on Trinity. She didn't have to die! It's all Smith's fault! Him and Neo should be resurrected and Smith should be Neo's new bitch.

Smith should be like Mr. Slave. (Ref. South Park Ep. 614 - The Death Camp of Tolerance)

...and only then does the camera zoom in on the tiniest of bite marks on her neck. And Neo turns toward the camera and goes, "I didn't do that. I mean, I kissed that woman like mad but-- Jesus, Trin, you look a bit pale...." Twisted Evil

Correct. They could make something more interesting like Neo fighting against Neo (dont ask me how and why-maybe the new versionf of Smith). Or Neo against Morpheus or Trinity (the insidious traitors...you know the stuff).

But if they wanted to put a good final fight, the "final boss" could have a more terrific look: maybe a demon-like one (original, not the typical demon face that we see in some movies) or someone like the T1000 in Terminator 2. There are so many ideas that they could have used...

The funny thing is it seems many people expected it to end like this. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say 'the ending sucked.' Yet when I ask them how it should've been ended, they are at a loss for words. I almost expected them to end the trilogy with Neo defeating ALL machines and the human race returning to the way we know it. I was almost disappointed when I finished watching it the first time. Then after the second, and third... and fourth times I saw it, I loved it more and more. Cool

You can grow to love ANY movie you watch 4 times.

Revo's truce ending is not the problem - it's the sloppy execution and lack of answers.

Not true. If you hate a movie it usually gets worse every time you see it. The first time I saw Revolutions, I was confused. So I saw it again, and most of my questions were answered. After that I had to see it two more times to enjoy it and not worry about the explanations. I very rarely see a movie 4 or 5 times within a month after it's released. I went to the theatres more times to see Revolutions than I did the rest of 2003.

I think that the fight Neo vs Smith should of been longer. How short was it?Theres many longer fight in all the trilogy but if you look at this one,the climatic battle that decides the fate of the humans, its really too short.

Do you hear that Mr Anderson? That is the sound of Inevitabillity...

The final fight was surprisingly short. I am glad they didn't drag it out though. Smith was beating Neo's ass too much anyway. Oh well, the movie was great even if I was expecting more from the fight.

Yes, the fight was a bit short. But perhaps that was all good since many in here have complained about the tediousness of the fight scenes. Neo and Smith could have been a little more exotic than they were, though. The fighting style was no news. I would have loved to see them do something new like telekenesis (sp) throwing things with mind force (a little too much Star Wars perhaps) or bending code around eachother.. Wink
. I'll get the DVD as soon as it gets released (won't go to the cinemas again to see it) and watch the darn thing over and over!

The PC-Game Enter the Matrix gave some answers to some of my questions. All answers to questions regarding Reloaded but answers anyway. 3Tooth So, play the game and be pleased!

Good morning all.

In regards to the thread title: The real hollywood ending.

I believe the real hollywood ending is exactly what we saw in Revolutions.

Oracle and Architect sitting on a park bench watching a sunset. ~Bah!~ Talk about your typical kiddy film hollywood endings, we saw one in Revolutions. Kind of reminded me of Milo and Otis.

Note: The above is only my view and I don't mean to offend anyone with it: If I have, I apologise in advance.

A hollywood ending would be like this- Neo goes to Source, destroys Matrix, 6 billion poeple wake up and accept the truth willingly, the machines are destroyed, and mankind walks the surface of the earth again with no idea how they will survive.

Hi Akshat Gupta.

I agree with your post: The above also fits into my own definition of a Hollywood Ending: Yet I've only posted the one from my own definiation that suited Revolution's Milo & Otis Hollywood ending. Still in my humble opinion a Sunhine Happy Happy Joy Joy Hollywood ending which disappointed me.

Cheers,
-Md
