I have seen various connections to Greek Mythology been made.
Ex- Morpheus, Merovingian as Hades, Persephone, Trainman as Charon etc

But I was wondering if anybody had any concrete ideas of connections with other mythologies such as Norse or Egyptian or various African mythologies.

the battle for Zion is supposed to depict a famous battle in Norse mythology. Check in google for more info.

I thought that I had some ideas regarding Egyptian Mythology and The Matrix. Osiris, Isis, Horus and Set spring to mind.
I shall have to go over my ideas again as I didn't persue this line of enquiry.
