[Matrix Revolutions]
Bane/Smith: "I admit, it is difficult to think, encased in this rotting piece of meat. The stink of it filling every breath, a suffocating cloud you can't escape. [spits blood] Disgusting! Look at how pathetically fragile it is. Nothing this weak is meant to survive."

Ok I just saw T3 (it took me so long because I just thought that this one was a little farfected, Arnold vs an unstopable Termainator errrr... Terminatrix and somehow he wins...at least that was my thought till I saw the movie)

then I thought about T2R and thought maybe these storylines are one in the same. The war against machines/A.I. and since Skynet linked all the computers in the world together into one conciousness maybe that was the ultimate reason for blacking out the sky in the Matrix. So for the machines to buy more time to get their network up and running they used the matrix as an Armistice to lul humans into a small sense of victory while they peiced together skynet underground creating the Cables that you see under and above ground in the matrix... The only thing with the matrix was it taught the machines compassion for the human race which keeps them from ultimatly destroying us.

Let me know if I am way off or right on point with this theory?

I have a friend who thinks the same -- that the Matrix picks up the Terminator story. I don't have any convincing arguments against it, except for the One that clinches it: The Wachowskis had no part in the Terminator series (to my knowledge). Since The Matrix is the Wachowski bros' style, and quite different from the style of the T-flicks, I tend to think it's coincidence.

So, no. It's an interesting idea, but not one that should really be examined in any depth, I think. There's no point.

In neuromancien fromGibson, we understand that humen have destroy so "autonomous" sftw by avidity that some "fire-wall" reacting on their core began to think, why, and who?...leading to a new reaserch...their own god.
I think terminator would be their deception in front off they can win the war vs human, and try not to...The link may be O-Shawan poly-electronics engines (next plane autopilot step), and the way difference is hard to accept, both parts.

The only similarity I see is the whole A.I. thing and the war between Machines and Humans. After that, I don't see any resemblances whatsoever. Except that both seem to be inspired by William Gibson's Neuromancer series.

Unfortunately no one can be told what The Matrix is...You have to see it for yourself.

i think they are quite similar (T2 owns!) but i dont think they could be linked only in the way that they illistrate the same sort of fears of A.I.

Well I too don't agree that Terminator=Matrix.Well I could point some other Interesting thing apart A.I which I think that might have influenced Brothers."The copy program of Smith in reloaded looks similar as in Terminator2 ".In T2 he just turns into anyone he just wanted. But here he can make anyone to him.

I think the 2 stories can be linked, but not in the way the OP described.

I see the Matrix more as something that could happen after the war against the machines in the Terminator series is lost.
