K, this is only a rough plot summary that I thought of in like an hour.

This would take place about 3 years after Revolutions.

The people of Zion decide that they are destined to eventually return to the surface. However, there are not enough people to rebuild the cities or the infrastructure. Plus, food levels are low and the population is rising. They strike a bargain with the machines; the remaining people in the Matrix will be freed if, and only if, they can find a way to restore natural power to the machines (the sun).

The leaders of Zion feel that this task is impossible. However, one man steps forward to say he'll develop the technology to do it. This man is named Kane; he related to Neo. He develops a network of machines that hover in the atmosphere and break down the chemical clouds into simpler elements, which are then released back into the upper atmosphere. Little by little, flecks of blue sky and sunlight appear, and the people hail Kane as a hero.

However, these machines are few in number and only take care of the atmosphere above Machine City. A small amount of people are released from the Matrix. Zion becomes a re-education facility, and the rest, including Kane, go on to the ruins of a city.

Kane also develops new technology for food making - He creates a machine that produces synthetic food from raw materials. ((of course it tastes crappy, but it gets the job done)).

Then comes the problem of shelter. Since the sky has been blocked out for so long, the Earth's temperature has dropped at least 15 degrees C. Also a problem, winter is coming. A few machines ((developed by Kane by reverse engineering sentinals)) restore a few buildings using debris lying around.

A year later, the population managed to survive the winter with few casualties. Things are looking up. More KC-SCs ((Kane Corp. Sky Clearers)) are built. More buildings are being restored thanks to KC technologies. Deep sea ocean harvesters are developed. These machines go to extreme depths and harvest metal from all the older machines that were dumped into the oceans ((see Second Renaissance pt 1))

Kane Corp. pirates much of their technology from the Machines themselves. They find countless Sentinals, Runners, and other combat machines lying about. Every time one is taken apart, something new is learned and applied.

I dunno whats next. I think this would make a a cool short film or somethin.

The Matrix isn't supposed to be an Action series, it's supposed to be a Sci-Fi series.

Yeah, I don't mean kung fu, gunfiring etc.

Your story is more like a documentary

But it was still a documentary.

Besides, action is not neccesarily a major part of the plot. I'm sure my idea would have some action in the end but as of now, my head didn't think of it.

Hmm.. An idea came to mind. How about massive hordes of rogue sentinals?

As you mentioned in your posts, I've just finished reading a new sci-fi novel, "The Quantum Matrix: Contact of the Extraordinary". New plot, new places, new characters, much more in depth of philosophy and metaphysics fundamentals.
There are a lot of actions as well. I finished reading 320 pages in two days. I liked it a lot.

The best part is "Teenagers are heroes and heroines too."

Download FREE 90 pages from

quantummatrix.us...
or pay 6 dollars for 2 copies. I shared them with my brother.

Check it out. You'll like it.
