The way it’s gotta be (maybe…)

It’s pretty unlikely the real world is a second matrix, as those who rejected the first one would do the same again. If the real world was a second matrix in which the machines had overcome the odds of choice thus fooling the population of Zion then why not everybody exist in this world instead of in two, and most importantly, what would be the point in the Architect playing the charade with Neo and the previous One’s?
The best idea (that has been discussed so far) is that our boys in Zion are machines themselves, perhaps a lower order (as described in the 2nd renaissance the machines did eventually create much improved AI in zero-1), and that they are used by the machines instead of the inefficient, constantly troublesome humans, as either a power source or as a kinda neural network (in other words single parts of a giant processor). When they become wise to the matrix, either through flaws in their code or through a virus (the red pill any one?) they become disassociated with the network, wake up, and are thus flushed out of the hard-drive so as not to screw up any more of the matrix already. OK, so what now? These machines, or human/robots (hell, they’ve got metal holes all over their bodies, plug their brains into computers and seem to shoot sentinels out of the air with their hands-Neo in RELOADED), are evicted only to find home in Zion, which is kept way underground away from the surface. All they’ve ever known of the surface is what is shown to them in simulations, for the sake of discussion the humans may well have won the war, the barren wasteland above Zion might just be what’s left of Zero-1…
So the scenario is this. Humans may have won all along or are indeed surviving as half human half-robot processors for the Architects matrix. They escape believing the world above them is destroyed and uninhabitable, but they are going to free the countless others still trapped in the matrix anyway because they don’t believe ignorance is bliss and want everyone else to eat sloppy crap in darkness for the rest of their lives. They are allowed to survive because the Architect would like to know what the hell is going on with this virus (like Smith called us Matrix 1) that pops up every now and again and if anywhere it going to be found in Zion in the mind of someone. During all this, things are starting to haunt the Architect from previous matrix incarnations, Persephone; the Oracle; the twins etc, which threaten to destroy the whole system. All the time life goes on as normal above the surface of Zion for human beings, which in truth is the reality which has been pulled over their eyes.
There are some flaws with this idea I know, like the fully human inhabitants of Zion, but there are some clues that support it, such as the moon lit clear sky from the REVOLUTIONS trailer and the reasoning behind creating Zion anyway. I’ve probably had too long to think about this and it’s only a film to which we’re gunna know the answers to by Christmas, but damn, this is a very exiting time : )

What do you presume the anomaly really is.
There has been much discussion about the exact nature of the anomaly, but what do you suppose it is?

PiukNeo, your theories a pretty well thought out but have you concidered some other issues such as why exactly are there SO many humans in these vast field (how many are there anyway? Smith tells us there are millions in M1, but surely it's counter productive to have so many). Also, with all the events going on (especially in RELOADED) what with Neo Flying around and multiple Smiths arising for all to see, arn't all the ordinary people of the matrix gunna start freaking out? I mean if the Architet is trying to avoid a system crash he's going to be pretty screwed if millions of his batteries are going to short out through seeing the actions of Smith, Neo, the Twins etc... Also, where does the zion population get all of its food source from deep underground?
These, and many others, are just some small gripes that I'm not pretending to know the answers, just putting them out there to see if anyone did.

Agent smith, I suppose the anomaly is the inevitable residual error in the mathematical equation in the matrix, he is a mind that has been "chosen" by the Achitect to posses the PRIME CODE OR PROGRAM of the mtarix, as he has been the inevitably anomaly of the system, thus the Architect puts the PRIME CODE into his body and uses his mind to reflect the illusion world of the matrix to the other mind conected to it, he serves as a source of the code of the matrix and as a mirror, to keep-alive of the matrix computer generated world that it is.

Sorry, but that I already know, what I require is the exact NATURE of the anomaly, not the explanation the Architect gives us, because I don't think the Architect is really understanding its TRUE NATURE. He just sees it as an anomoly, something that deviates from the normal, not conforming to accepted practice. He also states that it is INHERENT & SYSTEMIC ~ Existing as an inseperable part and affecting the entire system..... WHAT THEN IS ITS TRUE NATURE

I'm pretty sure that in the trailer the ship that is falling from the clear sky is about to crash and thus can not be above the clouds. Maybe this means the humans or machines have finally figured out a way to clean up the sky or the war has ended and the atmophere clensed Total Recal style? Most obvious reson to me why neo is blind-folded infront of the 'SPEAK' is that he's developed some real power in the real world against machines and they can't take the chance of him knocking out the big ol' SPEAK cos he's the real world manifestation of the architect. Maybe this is the reason behind Merov's obsesion with eye's, he knows the power they can hold as he was a previous one (or something). What do you all think. Bollox or something that has been covered months ago

Thanx for your input, you are thinking along the same lines as me. Now I want Puikneos response ~ this is a sort of questionnaire for my research so everybodys help would be very much appreciated

You are all overcomplicating things.

The clues are there, Animatrix, the bits and peices of the films that seem out of place, poorly written, poorly crafted, they are all clues, they are not poorly crafted/acted, they are very deliberate. But to be honest I would never have worked it out myself, even if I got close, my brain probably would have bypassed it thinking "pffft, too silly" before processing the concept. I got the spoiler handed to me on a plate from someone, in the form of a well written forum post that they saved a few months back, and it works out beautifully.

A quick browse through this forum makes me surprised that no-one has really hit the nail on the head, only a handful get close, maybe I didn't look hard enough *shrug* I assumed this spoiler/theory would be well out in the wild by now, like a virus, I was wrong, it must be clouded by too many other daft theories.

I can honestly say, stop digging, wait for the film, and enjoy the mindjob, it's going to be the ultimate "luke, I am your father" moment. You don't want to work out this spoiler. Go back to your dayjobs people.

There is NO NEED TO SHOUT ~ we're all after the answer, it could be as simple as you are saying or it could be something much deeper~ there is much hidden meaning in these films, I guess we all think we're right ~ to a certain degree..AND I'm not a mathemetician or a computer programmer, so go easy on me..
