»Possible Destruction?«

I'm confused about a few things.

Alot of people take the stance on Morpheus statement "The Oracle propecised his return would bring destruction to the matrix" (or something along that line). What if perhaps instead, the "one" is Smith, and his return (viral infection of all humans, thus eliminating their "choice") brings about the destruction of the system, because without choice, the system would fail, perhaps now the system will fail BECAUSE of him?

SO Smith could be The One? But he is The Many!

Well, like I said the prophecy only says that it will bring about the destruction of the matrix, perhaps learning the TRUE nature of what a matrix destruction would do to the POD farms they may reconsider?
