I have always been confused about the mirror bit ion M1 when they are freeing Neo (when he sees a distorted view of himself in the mirror)

i thought it might represent the pill cutting off the connection between neo's pod and the matrix mainframe. (everyone else in the room, their view of him distorts because of the pill 'disrupting his input/output carrier signal'

thnx

I would say that those people in the room cannot see what is going on, or at least that the disturbance they see is minimal. Trinity looks at Neo and Morpheus with an "is he ok?" look, not an "My god, he's being killed by silver slime!" look. She can see that he is "looking at something that isnt there", but not what the mirror does.

Now, an input output carrier signal would probably be the signal from the matrix to Neo's brain and vice versa. Thus, Neo would start seeing things that were not there and the Matrix would temporarily not know what commands Neo was sending. That would not affect what others perceived of the matrix experience. what it would do, however, would be to set off some alarm bells that would make Neo easier to track down (which was the objective). Chances are the matrix tries to correct the error and thus the hackers could find where the power spike was (or something to that effect).

As has been pointed out by other posters, the slimy mirror effect is much the same as smth's body hijack silveryness. I know not why, but it is interesting none the less.

Alright, have you ever had a dream where you are falling, but then you wake up and you're really falling out of bed? Well, Neo is waking up from the matrix (his dream world) and going into his pod. When Neo states "It's cold!" he is really feeling his pod goo, which is also cold. (I know this from the script.) Also, no one can see what is happening to Neo.

you know, that's exactly what melon said in this post, but I don't think that it's cold. I know that's not really the point, but you might want to read it nonetheless. matrix-explained.com...
I think Emmy's right, but also, the W. Brothers said (I think) in an interview that it was a hullucination. So in a way, you're all right.

Nope, Emilee hit the nail right on the head... they talk about that concept in the book Taking the red Pill. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THAT BOOK!

No, I mean about the fun thing. SO stupid. I agree, though, Emilee got it. Another annoying loop hole solved. Yeah! Now we can move on to the NEXT question.
