»Five more Ones?«

OK, i was reading the original shooting script for the first matrix, and, ypu'll notice that during Cyphers converstaion with Neo while they are sharing a delightful little cup of sludge, that Cypher's little speech was considerably longer, because he talks about how Morpheus found five other people before Neo that he believed to be "the One" due to a misinterpretation of what the Oracle had told him. And, I thought it to be quite interesting thinking that perhaps the reason it had been cut so late in production was perhaps due to sequels being formed. (The connection is obvious and if you don't see it, i might have to kick you..., ok I'm tired) But, if that portion of Cypher's dialogue had not ben cut, would it have bben too redundant if the plot was kept the same for Reloaded? Would it have made a big difference? Your thoughts and ideas are much appreciated.

The point of the other ones is supposed to be that they change each time Zion is destroyed. Morpheus wouldn't have so much reason to be upset if he already KNEW about the other 5 ones. On the other hand you'd expect him to find it a bit fishy.

That's not exactly what i was thinking of.. but good point! I was thinking more along the lines of how much itwould have changed everything and made Reloaded a bit more cliche, if you see what I mean.

besides, i wish peope would forget the eariler scripts and all that other shit that was left out of the movie.

if it was left out, it was probably for a reason. so fuck it.

Aw, gee whiz, thanks for clearing that up for me, cuz see, i just thought that they spit on a page and whatever line thier saliva landed on were the ones they cut.

J/K. O bviously they were cut for a reason, but I was just trying to get some alternate ideas people had.

i suppose that it impied that morpheus freed other from the matrix in the belief that they were the one

one such piece of evidence is that when neo goes to see the oracle he is told

"you can wait in here with the other hopefuls"

Such violence, Grendey! I think it was left out because then the faith that Morpheus had seemed a little less devoted. Also, it just made the movie better to cut it out.

I completely agree with that. It has nothing to do with the last 6 ones. It has to do with this:
Morpheus misinterpreted what the Oracle said. He thought that he could just point his finger at whoever he wanted, and they would become the One. So each of these five times, he would choose someone, free them, and teach them. They would start believing that they were the Ones, too, but then an Agent would kick their ass and kill them. Thus Morpheus felt depressed, but started over "that time was just a flaw, THIS time he/she WILL be the One."
After the 5th One died, I think he said that he fell into depression, that he doubted everything the Oracle said.But then Morpheus felt something when he saw Neo. He said he couldn't explain it, but he KNEW that he was the One. He believed again, and realized the truth of what the Oracle had said.

Nice little story, when you put it out on paper.

The 6 previous Ones, however, were ACTUALLY Ones. They were in older versions of the Matrix (a.k.a without Morpheus), and they chose the right door leading to the reload of the Matrix, the destruction of Zion, and their ultimate death.

So they have nothing to do with one another.
