k this is pretty far fetched but its just an idea i have come up with

in M2, we see the oracle giving neo a red pill which he doesn't eat

then we see smith plugging into neo and apparently copying himself, but in M1 we see morpheus giving neo the red pill, we see neo with all that silver goo going all over him, in M2 the goo that goes over neo when smith trys to take over him is SILVER, not black like all the other times it happens in the film, meaning that smith was doing the same thing that morpheus was doing to neo in M1

basically what im saying is the oracle give him the pill because he wouldn't of trusted smith giving him it, then smith got neo in the silver stuff, not sure what would of happened if had finished tho, perhaps neo would of woken up in the real real world like he woke up in the "real" world in M1, perhaps the process didn't work in M2 because he didn't eat the red pill and they couldn't pinpoint his location in the real real world

ALSO as more proof, after neo has gone through the silver goo process in M1 he says "am i dead" and in M2 after it happened again he said "it felt like dying" coincidence ?

Also we see smith laughing the oracles kitchen in M3 trailer, perhaps he is even laughing WITH the Oracle

I consider this as related to
"You destroyed me, Mister Anderson...We're here to take from you what you tried to take from us: Purpose."
Smith tries to take Neo's purpose (=programming?)
Neo: "Felt like I was back in that hallway. Felt like dying."
Thus: Having no purpose = being dead (because Neo has the purpose to go to the Architect).

but im convinced that the gooey stuff is more silver than when he takes over the agent later in the scene, its silver dammit

check a screenshot, especially the shot about 5 seconds after he starts where you see neo from the front looking uncomfortable

seriously tho! check that bit again, im aboslutely sure its more shiny and silver than later in the scene when he takes over Agent Jackson, you have written about that being silver, ur watching the wrong bit! its no where near as silver as when it happens to neo
