[Matrix Reloaded]
Niobe: "I remember. I remember you used to dance. I remember you were pretty good."
Morpheus: "There are some things in this world, captain Niobe, that will never change."
Lock: "Niobe!"
Morpheus: "Some things do change."

I don't know if anyone has ever thought of this, but I was reading the "Is Neo a machine/program" thing on the main site and found this...

Quote:

Trinity gives him a kiss (and he raises from the dead and becomes the 'One')

I don't think it was that Trinity gave him a kiss that revived him. I think that when Neo died, it freed him. It set him free, just like Smith. How he was revived is unclear to me right now. Hell, how Smith was revived is unclear to me, too.

Actually, a rough idea of how he survived is that his 'mind' was seperated from his 'body', so when Smith killed him, his body died, but his mind stayed living. How his body revived is still beyond me at this time.

Oh and, something else that I think... Neo, of course, is a program. He was, indeed, written at one time. Just as Morpheus, Trinity, Niobe, and everyone else that can be plugged (or better yet, 'hacked') into the Matrix were written. Link, Dozer, and just about ever other person in Zion are not programs. The Architect nor the Merovingian ever mentions anyone else besides people with plugs (programs).

I believe when they are set free from the farm, they gain the right to make choices. They themselves can manipulate their lives, instead of having a set path. Though some may choose to argue with me, saying they don't have a choice, but they do. Neo can choose to kill himself, Neo could choose to give up, Neo could choose to run around like a maniac killing things. Proof that everyone has the choice to make choices.

The Oracle seems to be a rough topic in that specific article. I'm referring to the "Is Neo a program? Is Neo a machine?" article. The Oracle is a program, just like any others, but is also a machine. She was designed to fulfill certain 'duties', and being able to tell the future of a program is her 'duty'.

Argh, now I'm just rambling, but still, maybe in my rambling I started a nice topic or something... Or perhaps it's all been said. I don't know, either way, someone say something. Smile

Free your mind.

I don't think Morpheus, Trinity, Niobe and the rest you mentioned are programs. They are in fact, human. Of course they are part machine, now that they have plugs and stuff, but they remain human. Others like Tank, Dozer, and Link are 100% human.

I also think that Neo is human, part machine like Morpheus, Trinity, and Niobe, but what is so different or special about him is that he's the only one that carries code. So he is a human-machine-program.

Unfortunately no one can be told what The Matrix is...You have to see it for yourself.

HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT? JUST BECUZ THEY THEMSELVES BELIEVE IT?

I SIMPLY DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT'S IN MORPHEUS'S MIND....HE SAYS

Quote:

WHAT U CAN SEE,....IS NOTHIN BUT ELCTRICAL IMPULSES INTERPRETED BY UR BRAIN

THEN HOW DID HE BELIEVE EVERYTHING HE SAW IN ZION?

Everyone in the Matrix carries a code. The Architect explains that. Neo's code is just different because it is the code of the One. The code that is different from every other one. The code that will reload the Matrix.

The Matrix has you...

The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary[1] dissemination[2] of the code you carry

[1]One that serves for a limited time
[2]To scatter widely, as in sowing seed

So what this is saying in essence is that Neo is required to return to the source (you cant return unless you have left there once before) and allow the source to assimilate Neos abilities into the matrix programming, thus providing an upgrade to the matrix (scattering the code into the matrix) upon which Neo “The Anomaly/The One” must leave the source to start the process of Zion all over again. This will continue until the Next “Anomaly/One” emerges that can overcome the last upgrade to the system and threaten the stability of the matrix. That is why it’s temporary. It can’t be avoided – it is inevitable.

The architect does not see Neo as an individual. He sees him as an anomaly that he must manipulate to his own advantage. Programs can be loaded into and out of the human mind. Experiences and skills can be also. That is all stored in the memory. This is evident when Neo learns Kung Fu or Trinity learns to fly a copter or Cypher was going to get a new life with no knowledge of his last life. So it is logical to assume that the Architect wants to download Neos mind, experiences and memories so the matrix can be upgraded to overcome this latest anomaly. The architect knows nothing about memory, just code. So in his world he would logically call the sum of Neos mind Code.

Thoughts?
