In the end of matrix revolutions the architect said that if neo chooses a certain the other door which leads back to the matrix it will evetualy cause a system crash killing everyone connected to the matrix.
Yet In the Matrix revolutions There is no sign of that WHY?[/quote]

It didn't crash because in Revolution ending: Neo went to the machine city, made a deal with the Machine God to save the Matrix and Zion. The cataclysmic system crash never occur, it just got reloaded after the Smiths were flushed out of the system.

"If it was so important to the existence of the machines that Neo return to the source, then why were so many programs trying to stop him?"
That's a good question. However, notwithstanding everyone trying to stop Neo, Neo never dies. He came back to life after seemingly dying in the first one.
Also, at the end of the second one, he is able to stop the sentinals dead in their tracks when it appeared they would eaisly kill Neo and the rest of the gang.
Also, it sure looks like the machines ALLOWED Neo to make it the machine city w/out too much trouble. Surely if the machines wanted to, they would have kept the heat on Neo after he returned from going up past the clouds, etc. Neo stated that there were too many to deal w/. Surely the machines could have increased their numbers 10 fold to stop him, IF they wanted too.
The fact that Neo never dies and Neo can stop the machines in their tracks and simply fly w/ little hassle straight to the source, adds serious weight to the argument that (for whatever reason) the machine world did in fact need Neo to return safely to the source, e.g., to allow him to reinsert that critical bit of the program to keep the matrix going, etc.
Why the machines could not simply reboot the Matrix and rebuild zion on their own is still a mystery to me. Got to keep read the forum for answers. hehe.
