The interesting thing I found in this document is exactly when Larry came up with the Matrix idea.

Larry said he hoped he didn't have to recall 1993, but why? If he came up with the idea for the famous movie script in 1993, I would think he would love recalling it!

I wonder if he has ever told anyone what influenced this idea -- how did it pop into his head?
