You make some excellent points. Man created machines. Machines create efficiencies. But, can machines create machines.

So far, in any creative attempt by man, he has never created anything greater than himself. I doubt this his evolved creations that run the Matrix could do any better. So, what a clever way to come up with upgrades. Use the enslaved minds to create that code for its own purposes. Here, again, is the symbiosis between man and machine that neither will truly acknowledge. Each is too caught up in their own egotistical self-importance to see that they need each other.

Fushion is the only way to break out of the cycle of repeated building and destruction.
