Some questions/observations for those who like to nit-pick the details

1) Five previous ones who've returned to the source
I can think of 3 candidates: Train man, Merovingian and Seraph
Any idea who the other 2 could be? If those 3 aren't it, then where are the previous ones?

2) Reality vs Matrix
Clothes: Reality - torn cloth, Matrix - super stylish
Food: Reality - slush, Matrix - steak, and programs (cake, candy, cookies)
Inside the Matrix, the programs are all about religious iconography of heaven and hell/supernatural:
Seraph (angel), Merovingian, Oracle, Architect, Werewolves, Sati, Persephone (keeper of hell)
Anyone notice Smith's lightning making wings behind him when he was attacking Neo at the end?
Outside the Matrix, the machines in the real world are more like sub-human creatures (squids, spiders)
Question: is this on purpose to evoke AI's sub-human level in reality, but show their superiority/supernaturalness on their own reality (Matrix) or have I been reading waaay too much into this

3) Sun themes:
Trinity saw the sun
Sati made the sunrise
In the matrix, they wear sunglasses (I know, I know - sunglasses to protect the soul from vulnerability - but any chance of a dual meaning?)

YOu are on a dangerous path suggesting that Neo is a program.

But Neo IS part program, there's no denying it. (As well as fully human)

However, those other programs are not former Ones. All former One's returned to the Source.
Neo is an incarnation of the One, he is the fifth, fourth, third, etc.

There is only "one" one. ^_^

2.) There's probably a reason to the Whole "look" of the Matrix vs Real world and you sound like you're on the right track with it.
I agree that it shows the different mentalities.
Matrix= Smart, well spoken.
Real world= Hive mind controlled , one track, purpose driven.

All the previous "One"s returned to the source?

Where is that stated absolutely? I agree that Neo is at least partially machine. Anyone who rewatches the end of Matrix (1) where Neo is killed and then brought back to life (reprogrammed) by a kiss from Trinity will realize this. When he awakens he is able to see code for the first time.

I also agree that the Moravengian was once a "One." He seems to have failed in his "purpose" because he got too caught up in human pleasures (as I have stated before).

I, too, noticed the lightning wings behind Smith in the final battle. The pose reminded me of some painting I have seen somewhere of Lucifer being thrown out of Heaven.
