Why there will be no matrix 4.

Fans of the epic trilogy the matrix are in no doubt they want a fourth film.
However even though producer Joel Silver has confirmed that a 4th is out of the question, there are more reasons why the Wachowski brothers refuse to make a 4th.

In last of the trilogy, the ending left too many holes to be filled. Neo did not die.
The fact he did not die is clear in the end of the film. If you watch it again you will see a glowing light around his body. As he enters the machine city at first going over the fields you see this glowing light everywhere. That light represents life.

The light was to make a bond between the humans in Zion and the machine above ground. Like the row over racism. Each human from different corners of the globe may have different coloured skin. May talk a different language, But is still a human! Meaning that life is life. Doesn't matter if its BIO life or AI life. If something is self-aware. It is life that should be respected.

Also another flaw in the righting of the matrix.
The world that the people are being freed into is a hell hole. It has suffered a nuclear war. No human could live in it. So they are better off in the matrix than out of it. Who wouldn’t want a life where anything is possible? To make a fourth one, it would need to be based on the rebuilding of the world.

As much as the matrix is one of my favourite films, a 4th would just wreck the trilogy.
It would make it more like the terminator than anything else. Would be predictable with the humans no doubt acting as if they are better than the machines again, starting the whole thing off once more!

Part of me would like to see a 4th for some reason. But lets all hope they never do release it. Maybe 40 years down the line a remake will come about (not that it needs one).

To the guy who questioned "matrix within matrix".
Maybe so, but to speculate on that is either to confuse people even more that don't understand the concept of it on it's own. Or you need to stop thinking about it.

The story line is simple once you break it down. To question that would be questioning the hole concept and making allot of the story a controdiction. A waste of time!

yes i agree with you i just think they should have waited a little longer to release the 3rd matrix. I mean giveing us something to look forward to down the road would have been soemthing to think about in the fan base. But i would still love another matirx beeing i dont think the wachoskis could wright something that would dissapoint us so much as to make us say hey that movie sucked and they should have left it alone after m3
