»Smith Not Copying Onto Neo«

I thought about this: Maybe it has nothing to do with Neo being the One. Maybe it has to do with the fact that when Neo jumped into Smith in the Matrix he copied part of him onto Smith and part of Smith onto Neo. If that is true then maybe they in a sense, the same, so Smith was not unsucessful in copying himself to Neo, he was merely copying himself to a 'program' that was already like he was. Just my thoughts.

You mean just after Neo spoke to the Oracle? So why did Neo state: "It felt like dying"?

Maybe because that is how he felt when he first became the One? Or maybe the copying didn't come from Neo blowing up Smith but from Smith killing Neo, thus bringing him his second life (as the Oracle predicted) which caused him to become The One.
