I stumbled upon another interesting analysis of the allegory between Messianic Christianity and the Matrix Trilogy, which contains some more details (mainly Gnostic elements) about the similarities between Jesus and Neo.

ioannis.virtualcomposer2000.com...

It appears as though this story has been present over and over in our history in one form or another and the culmination came with Christianity.

It's interesting what the above author thinks the "red pill" is. Shocked

Yeah, I caught that, too. I was taught that "Christ" and "Messiah" mean the same thing. LOL!

I'd like to see some meaning in the Matrix sequels, but the Jesus analogy just does not hold up. Simply tossing in a few Christian images into a movie which may have analogs to the Christ story is not enough.

Christ was aware of his powers as a child, Neo has to wait until he is an adult, and then has to have it pounded into him, kung fu style.

Christ did not come to Earth to save people from a physical threat, i.e., the machine invasion analog. He was operating in a kingdom not of this world. At the time of Christ's life, the Roman world was more or less at peace for one of the few times in its history.

There is no evidence anywhere for a special relationship between Christ and a woman in the manner of Trinity. Folks, the DaVinci Code is fiction, and long exposed as being completely unhistorical.

Christ and the Devil are not the "other half" of each other as are Neo and Smith. The Devil (and there is some debate on which devil we are talking about) was a fallen angel. No relation to Christ.

Christ did not make a deal with God the Father (as with the Architect) to fight the Devil (Smith). The scene were Neo talks to the Architect has some analog with Satan showing Christ the kingdoms of the world, and so it may suggest that the Architect is the Devil, but that is stretching it. (The scene in Empire Strikes Back where Darth Vader offers Luke co-rulership of the Empire makes the same point much better.)

And let me note again, there is NO REASON for Neo to make the deal with the Deus Ex Machina. Smith's threat is not to Zion/humanity, it is to the Machine City. Neo, effectively, cuts a deal with God the Father to save heaven (or is the Matrix heaven?) from an attack by the Devil--where is this in the New Testament? Of course, Neo simply needed only sit back and let Smith take over the Matrix in order to bring down the Matrix from within, no need for his own self-sacrifice.

Neo sacrificing himself at the end of M3. Please note that the Matrix is still intact, nothing has changed other than a few more people who are going to be freed. No planet sweeping religion or liberation as in the case of Christianity. And oh yeah, someone has to clean up the mess in Zion.

I strongly disagree. Although the story of Jesus as portrayed in the gospels has a somewhat unique viewpoint, all the right elements/similarities are there.

Cyberia wrote:

That's according to official gospel parlance. If I want I believe it, if I want I don't. There are plenty of apocrypha writings/gospels which claim that the period between Jesus' boyhood and adulthood, was spent with him travelling to the east (Egypt) to learn the ways of the enlightened.

Cyberia wrote:

According to official church parlance, Christ came to liberate us from the bonds of Satan, whose "invisible veil" covers the world to this day. In a very realistic sense, the Messianic scenario is thus alive and well, since by all appearances this veil has never been lifted from our world, and its existence is virtually synonymous with the existence of evil.

The minor technicality of whether "evil" is a physical machine threat is grossly immaterial.

Cyberia wrote:

Again, as screened and determined by the "official" church writings and fathers. In true reality nobody knows for sure.

I snipped the rest of your quoted differences, because they do not detract from the central message, which is the same story repeated under a more modern setup.

In the same way I don't expect the prophets to have relayed accurate information 2000 years ago, I expect the Messianic story to resurface under a different setup.

If you want, it's the same story as that of the brave knight who frees the damsel by killing the dragon.

You could cook up 1000 additional differences, but the fact remains that this particular scenario has generated the most variations from any story so far: The brave warrior/hero who saves the rest of the world from imminent destruction.

The same problem has existed for thousands of years. It has taken shape and form with various stories in the people's traditions, but the culmination came with the story of Jesus.

It is only natural that a "modern" version of it came about, with Neo as the principal player. The exact details are essentially immaterial. What matters is that we seem to have recognised (at least subconsciously) that we are under a veil of sorts, and we keep coming back with the same scenario of the one hero who will ultimately free us. Same scenario as in Dark City.

If you want to corner the problem still further, it's called "death". This is the problem that has all of us, ultimately imprisoned. And THIS is the problem we need to be freed from, which is what any past or modern Messiah is supposed to do.

While I agree that Neo is not an analogy of Christ, I think aspects of both are analogous. Same goes for a Buddha, a Hindu yogi etc.
Neo imo represents the "common ground" of all these "liberators",... thus the cross + the lotus + the Upanishads etc.

However, what is expressed as a "physical" war in the movies, can as well be understood as a metaphor for a mental conflict, an "inner" war -> the Matrix is an exploration of consiousness (Larry W.)
This img is an example of how else you could approach the Neo-Smith conflict in the virtual (mental) world Matrix:

Cyberia wrote:

But what about the aspects of what Christ and the devil represent in us, drawing the "I" towards either selflessness or selfishness (as expressed in the img above)?

Cyberia wrote:

Neo is led on a path enabling him to experience the truth himself. No pounding into him (from outside), but growing self-understanding (from within) by the means of experience.
But, of course, even though the choice to sacrifice himself has been made before, he gains full understanding of this choice (and accordingly the truth) only upon the act.

Cyberia wrote:

I agree with you about DaVinci code, but according to the Gospel of Philip...

. . . the companion of the [Savior is] Mary Magdalene. [But Christ loved] her more than [all] the disciples, and used to kiss her [often] on her [mouth]. The rest of [the disciples were offended] . . . They said to him, "Why do you love her more than all of us?" The Savior answered and said to them, "Why do I not love you as (I love) her? When a blind man and one who sees are both together in darkness, they are no different from one another. When the light comes, then he who sees will see the light, and he who is blind will remain in darkness."

Even if you understand everything literally,... with Zion destroyed and it's people killed, and with the Matrix destroyed from within by Smith... how is mankind supposed to survive?

In spirituality, the divine is usually expressed as light. And it is clouded by the delusion of selfishness, sin etc. -> darkness.
Smith does represents darkness, as stated in word and image in Revolutions. This darkness is a dead end in our spiritual quest towards the light.
Both, Neo and Christ, "(re)open" the path towards the light for mankind.

I consider the end of the war between man and machine, and the change from a solely theoretical choice to transcend the Matrix to a practical choice, quite a change.
Of course, everybody has to walk the path towards liberation himself. But it has been (re)opened.

Where do either of you get this from? Scripture does indicate that Christ knew from an early age he was "about his Father's work," but no where does it say explicitly that he knows about his actual "powers." In fact, his baptism and late arrival in ministry could suggest otherwise. And remember his response to Mary (in the Gospel of John) the first time she suggests he perform a miracle.

Cyberia wrote:

Again, where do you get this? We know virtually nothing about Neo's childhood. Why is he asking the questions? Why does he believe he is different (as his boss says)? Why does he go with Trinity to see Morpheus in the first place? Doesn't his questing nature suggest that he has at least an inkling of what he may be? Certainly others in the story have started to figure it out before the first shot of the first movie even starts to roll.

If you are to employ the "christ" concept as the other end of comparing your fantasy hero to a great, you don't have that other end... It's like comparing Neo (rock), to a vacuum... given that the proverbial "christ" was no more than a pretty-boy front for the true magician of the times, Peter.. who set the little fag up to take the brunt of the federal retaliation, should his scheme fail, to silent-coupe the existent government... If you attempt to e-merge "christ" with Neo, you'll find that you have seriously diluted Neo.. and will have damaged your programs and themes beyond repair.. like running backwards, believing your trajectory is forwards.. something like "jogging in a the NewYork sewer system", and totally at a loss as to why the air smells so bad today..?

You would get better mileage in comparing Neo to yourself.. and less shit and confusion... Try it, you'll like it...

In topic "christ fucking a hooker".. It holds a possibility.. in that fags generally tip the scales once, or at least fantasize testing the contradiction, as a result of hormonal imbalance demanding appeasal... Question remain: Was pussy, back then, a death sentence as it is today..? Or did you just fuck 'em, then stone 'em the next day in the square..?

You would be better off imaging "christ" tacked to a post, with a Roman soldier making his statement, by pissing upon the foot of the cross, on a chilly night, while pungent piss-steamy mist rolls, churns, and tumbles, in the cool night's air...

You might want to take Neo "out of that toilet", by not comparing a modern realistic substantial hero, with an absurd dead ancient useless fantasy hero, created only to suck (parasitize) money from the poor... But the feds noted a deficiency in the coffers, and "christ" died for his own sins...

Forget "christ".. be yourself, and get a true handle on reality.. or be self-cursed with your unstable foundation, made of silt and lint.. not to be confused with adobe, which also has a little shit in the mix, and has been known to handle some rain, and a bit of truth...

People generally fear the unknown. Hence they lash out against the things that challenge/force them to change the way they think or the things they think about. This is what Sec-Ren depicts for us.

I don't have this fear, because I have come to grips that everything that exists may fall into the unknown category as far as I'm concerned, hence I welcome change in thinking. What about you? Shoot any robots in the head, lately?

I LOVE the unknown... I couldn't embrace the unknown any more than I am... If I did, I would burn...

Religion conditions you to fear the unknown...

Nothing can force the masses to change how they think.. they don't have the capacity to think...
In all honesty, can you recall one original thought, which you actually had on your own?..

Stating you don't have that fear, is you voicing remnants of that fear, expecting to entice a prospective teacher to assist you to deal with your own fears, and to pay for your lessons, in probably the teacher's blood and pain, whilst you fight to remain as you are, and as you want to be... Sounds a bit like solitaire-war...

First off.. what does the young mom screech out, after discovering her crawler has just left an ochre streak all across the living room's white shag carpet..? "JEZUZ KERRYST!"...

Secondly.. I doubt you can handle this, but you did ask for it... It's just the facts as I found them, so don't be getting up a huge drippy erection for me, and trying to convert me to hell, nor blaming and flaming me for the sustained headaches...

...I explored a well presented Christian religious link... It didn't present anything that could modify a Pagan's stance in the "god" topic... All of their presentations were presented to persons who are already embedded in Christianity, thus being significantly religiously conditioned, and anchored.. like a clam stuck to a rock for its duration...

Reading those works was like starting, in the middle of a book...

I gave it a good honest read.. and found that it is full of unsolved questions, that seem to be just clouded and/or"steam rolered over"... with a literary filler, which seems to be included and incorporated, only to force to unrelated values to bind together... which enable high levels of emotion to hide deficiencies in literary attempts to create and establish fact where there is none...
In simpler terms.. It seems the Bible is a mishmash collections of delightful multi-authored, multi-cultured, multi time, multi dimensional prose.. in which unrelated excerpts and packages seem to be connected into a series presentation (book).. by incorporating unrelated fillers between packets.. as if to be the "glue".. to force stories to seem to be a flowing text...

In my research.. I discovered that there is a threefold conditioning applied to the thinking processes of the Christian child.. which hold that child's thinking abilities to a maximum ceiling of 7-percent mind usage...
As the child ages, and the conditioning cures, should that "sheep of the flock".. ever attempt to explore 8-percent mind usage.. the conditioning thereby causes cerebral nerve plumbing to severely constrict, causing what is commonly known as a "migraine"... That being part 1 of the 3-fold conditioning's reaction to the person establishing thought processing beyond the permitted 7-percent thought processing usage....

In 2 of 3.. The person's thought processes are thus shunted into that "individual's" "comedy memory river"... being that person's collection of unsolved comedies, ridiculousnesses, frights, and the like... literally a nightmarish place to be... The person now emergency rushes away from that memory river, like a cat from a burning house... and slams right into a memory wall of dogma.. containing the core shields of the conditioning.. and a gluing effect.. like "flypaper"... The person's thought processing attaches itself to the first dogmatic icon anomaly it can open, and thus begins rhyming, or preaching, that person's learn-ed facets of that particular piece of dogma... at which time, 3 of 3 comes into play.. the person's bio-morphines system injects a large steady dose of bio-morphines into that person's nervous system... is when the migraine is thus quieted and neutralized...
Essentially that person is now stoned on what seems to be "religion's drugs".. Actually high on the body's own bio-morphine drugs.. which are probably derivatives of extreme adrenaline reprocessing, in one or more of the body's 18 major glands.. like how we process cocaine out of cocoa leaves... or heroin from its less active cousin... or penicillin from the urine of penicillim mold...
The flow of drugs is now regulated by the steadiness of the flow of that person's active defense of that chosen segment of religious dogma.. and is slowed and/or cut, only when the person ceases religious defensive output, for a duration long enough to acquire an unrelated focus.. I.E.: the phone rings, or a knock at the door.., or the taking a conscious sip of liquid.. etc...
The bio-morphines have relaxed the constricted nerve plumbing, and the migraine subsides, leaving the "individual" now in a relaxed drugged euphoric stupor... "Praise god!" cries out the Christian...

Is a Christian's anger towards externally sourced blasphemy.. the result of angers in being forced to defend ones belief structures... Or is the anger toward the pain of the conditioning migraine?..

Does the Christian defend dogma to establish a release of bio-morphines... and/or is it that the Christian actually believes that the dogmas are reality?..

A tangent in this research.. concludes that only Christian person's experience the infamous "overload study headache"... Could this be that they have touched beyond the 7-percent permitted thought processing ceiling of the religious conditioning, for having crammed studies for exams..?

Could it be that all migraines are thus caused by Christian people trying to think out of the box..?
If yes.. then is it conceivable that Christianity is stifling human evolution.. in order to anchor cultures to History.. to thus prevent change.. because Christianity religion fears that change doesn't include them?..

I further studies, I determined that only Christians experience overload headaches and migraines...

Deeper into this research.. I discovered that should one who is infected by said conditioning, effect a sudden one-liner extreme blasphemous output.. greater than the 7-percent mind usage territory in which the conditioning was likely created.. that the conditioning will thus selfdestruct.. by trying to suicide the person...
Thus should a Christian conditioned person have managed to somehow unconsciously block the migraine, or for some reason be numbed from sensing the headache.. and be exploring thought processes beyond the 7-percent permitted ceiling.. for a duration that triggers the person's conditioning to selfdestruct... Is it then conceivable that Suicides are thus a result of religious conditioning gone wrong, out of control.. in having made a mistake.. in killing a person who didn't blaspheme.. but merely accidentally processed thought to long out of the box..?

__________________

In conclusion.. it seems that religion is what is stifling new technological development, and human evolution.. as if religion has essentially put the brakes on Evolution, for monetary purposes...

Money powers religion... Religion powers people...

So it would seem that the only way to release the human race from religion's hell, is to extinct money...

We gave the reigns of the human race to Money, when we gave Barter to Money... Now we need to take it up another notch.. to the next level.. what ever that be..?

What ever it is.. It must be fashioned of Love for all Life...

Good point dude...

In a sense I do fear myself, because I am so fugink dangerous, in levels of potential destruction, which I am capable of, that I fear if I ever got so pissed-off that I lose control of myself, it would be the end of everything...

I personally have no problem with what you say above. But you have taken this discussion totally out of context:

The issue is whether The Matrix trilogy resembles the Jesus Messianic scenario. NOT whether the Jesus Messianic scenario is true or not.

While I am interested on the former, I am not interested on the later. Opinions on that are a dime a dozen.

...For fifty years I've been studying the data in that Rome download... It clearly illustrates that christianity is a money-scam... Plus a reasonable taste of 17% of the magic that be... And a lot of speculative science.. but not much with any attachment to any solid, nor mental, reality...

This memory is a riot.. I wish I could share it with all of you who demand immortality... But if I did share this insight via downloads.. I'd hafta get real-good at dodging shit... and I don't want to have-to fight you to give you a little boost... so I don't do boosts anymore.. ceptin' for those little warrior angel darlings who need my help to hatch their warrior...
I just loves watchin' little warriors hatch...

That Rome download.. Plus the seven solved NDE's, Plus exploring the Bigfoot collective to its end...

Plus, plus, plus...

It not the "book format" that offend me.. it how I see religion blinding and numbing the masses, with various weaponries... to force the masses to herd.. to maintain a 2000-year-old fag's wine and cheese party, at the expense of the livelihoods of the innocent... Which sure seems like its the devil feeding on humanity, through religion's straw... sucking the Life out of us.. leaving only enough life-essence for us to maintain living.. like the tribe that takes only the blood out of their cattle...

It's how, in the 700's a pair of kings collected everything they could about scriptures and such... sending their scroungers throughout the known world, stealing, buying, finding, copying, all there is on the past, in regards to religion... Then they wrote today's bible.. and commanded that all the kingdom read it, and live by it, under penalty of death...

Those are the guys who created that conditioning...
Now all I gots to do is dig deeper into those two kings M.O... to find to reverse engineer their brain washing...
If we don't solve this, we are going extinct...

So is there any out there who has done a lifetime of study on those two bible-thumpin' kings..?
It's time to see the paperwork behind the mess they did to Humanity's Head.. to have steered us on an extinction-trail...

So.. How the H can you "like the bible"?..

Have you ever looked beyond that book.. for having used that great book, as but a stepping stone in your crossing the river of Life into the land of Immortality..?

So.. are you stuck, on the shore, in a book..?
