what if neo ran away just when he was the one, instead of fighting agent Smith, and destroying him...?
Something very different would have happened i guess...
The equation won't be balanced anymore, smith balanced the equation, maybe he didn't even know that he did.
(I Was Compelled to Stay, Compelled to Disobey), where was he? we may think he would be in the mainframe, and since he was COMPELLED, i think that the source forced him to stay in the matrix and gave him something to balance the equation, but what is it with the DISOBEY thing?did the source want something and smith wanted something else?
Did he disobey and returned to the matrix, or did he disobey and tried to free himself but he was compelled not to?
What we may understand, that smith was re-entered to the matrix for a purpose, and it was to balance the equation, balancing the equation is the architect's role in the matrix, so maybe it was up to him, he decided that, without telling smith exactly why, and smith tried to figure it out by himself and he came to the result that he is the negative of neo or the result of his equation, and to free himself he needs to destroy him.
