What if Smith re-wrote the serum to make it ineffective. He wants to get down and personal with Morpheus, and we know that he does this behind the other Agent's backs ("What were you doing?").

Maybe Smith's observation in Reloaded that everything is happening just like before truely does denote knowledge of the previous cycles. In which case, he knows that if the machines were to get their hands on the codes (which the serum would allow) then the codes would be taken from him and rendered useless so that the Path of the One could continue unhindered.

But if Smith could get the codes for himself, he could break free of the Matrix. He could go hide out in the Zion mainframe. He could escape the human Matrix zoo that he loathes so much.

The once and future king from the TV series Roswell, Max Evans (or Zan, if you prefer his messianic name). It was a great show if you ever get the chance to watch it. Borrowed a lot from the Matrix (fairly openly as it made several references in the dialogue to the Matrix).

Max is a human/alien hybrid who possess the sole of the former savior/king of an alien empire. He is slowly brought to realize his destiny to return to his role as saviour, but then subverts that destiny with the help of his true love, Liz Parker.

Max can stop bullets with his mind by holding his hand up, he can heal people with a touch, and is just generally very One-y.
