It is interesting that for a film like the matrix many essays were put forward and for V for Vendetta none so far.
So I thought I would be first to put this rather short essay on what I see in the film.
Like the matrix V for Vendetta is laced with many symbols
but what I want to discuss is the role of coincidence.
When all the dominoes fall there is one left standing and
that one represents the choice of mankind. What choice
you ask? The choice to take responsibility for our lifes.
This is a choice that we see presented in the matrix as well.
Now while we see many things that happen and appear to
be coincidence we are told by V that there is no coincidence
just the illusion of it. V greets Eve(V) with the words
Bonjour and cooks her eggy in the basket, which to her
surprise she is greeted the same by Ditrich and made the same meal. Eve(V) also twice is witness to the black bags of the finger men from under the bed.
While these look like a coincidence it is what is known
as a sychronisic moment. Sycnchronicity is a concept
introduced by Karl Jung...
Synchronicity is the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that cannot be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer. In simple terms it is a meaningful coincidence.
It is said that once we begin to recognize these meaningful
coincidences we get into flow. The starting point to be able
to see the synchroncity is to first recognize our (shadow).
V represents the shadow of the universal conscience. The darkside of man... filled with hate and (V)engence. When we pay attention to the synchronicty we get to state of flow. The film invites us to get to know our shadow side. But informs us that in order to do that we have to let go of fear and doubt.
In the state of flow we are granted the gift of intuition as is seen by Finch. At first most of us will look and see that V is about terrisom that mirror of our world. And whle it puts forward good questions like just who is the terrorist V or Sutler.
The ultimate of the film is that message once the global shadow of the world is reavealed we get into a state of being at peace with our selfs and thus become the creators of our destiny instead of a chain of unfolding dominoes of events. And as such V left the final choice for the last dominoe to fall down to mankind.
V and Eve(V) are the dual shadows of man but what is the shadow you ask... without looking into your mirror...

The shadow
The shadow is an unconscious complex that is defined as the diametrical opposite of the conscious self, the ego. The shadow represents everything that the conscious person does not wish to acknowledge within themselves. For instance, someone who identifies as being kind has a shadow that is harsh or unkind. Conversely, an individual who is brutal has a kind shadow. The shadow of persons who are convinced that they are ugly appears to be beautiful.
The shadow is not necessarily good or bad. It simply counterbalances some of the one-sided dimensions of our personality. Jung emphasized the importance of being aware of shadow material and incorporating it into conscious awareness, lest one project these attributes onto others.
The shadow in dreams is often represented by dark figures of the same gender as the dreamer, such as gangsters or prostitutes or beggars or liars.

Remember how you all liked finding those little hiden things in
the matrix... The twins in the training program. The women
in the red dress in trins bike mirror. Choice of the day.
Room 101 and all that. Well V for vendetta is full of them
however unlike the matrix it is not about single images
V for Vendetta has repeating images that are the same
but different.
Here is a few...
Notice there are five chess boards in the film .
At the BTN there is a picture of a women in
a red dress and the same picture is in finches office.
Eve(V) and V movements are mirrored. Eve is the
left of her TV V is on the right of his. Also I read some
where... Isis said the symbol of the noorse fire is
the symbol for checkmate in chess. After V kills creedy
and is standing with the steps behind him you will notice
a wave across the screen from left to right. V leaves
a V in blood on the wall. When Eve (V) offers to help
V what book is he reading... roots of coincidence.
In the crowd at the end all the dead are back to life.
In Ditrich closet there is a picture of the American
and British flags mixed together with a Nazi symbol.
V also refers to Evey as EVE (V) showing she is
the second of the Vs". Also during Eveys torture she
is confronted by Creedy and another finger man. Look
at the shadows careful.
