1st post! I looked around, and surprised not to have found this one yet, because it seems to me to be the most glaring error, forget reflections in sunglasses and angles of heads...
How is it that Morpheus doesn't get all shot up when Neo and Trinity are shooting up the interrogation room with the helicopter? The agents get it, there's a zillion bullets...first time I saw it I assumed I'd missed something, but I've checked a few times...again, i should think somebody else has noticed this?

We've mentioned it before. I remember though, Morpheus does get one bullet to the lower leg (admittedly from a seperate source, but he doesn't escape unscathed).

It seems wild, but it is a piece in a sequence that proves Neo is the one. It's impossible, but that's why it is going to work. He knows where Morpheus is, and he manages to not shoot him. A little bit of luck and really good aim Smile

Thanx! Where was this discussed, btw? (Thanx as well for the amazing explanation of the Architect's speech...definitely the most intriguing character and sequence, i.m.o.).... In a sense I mean, do you think the directors had this in mind, or ignored it...I guess all these things make you wonder why someone involved in the production didn't 'red flag' it....

I think the directors had it in mind. It seems like it's suppossed to stand out as completely outlandish so that you really go, "Whoa, this guy shouldn't be able to do that!" It's Neo's version of making the blind see or curing the leppers.

You can check out the earlier discussion here matrix-explained.com.... Hexediter has a great post on that thread about this scene with some wildly intricate details.

Thanks for enjoying the Architect's speech translation. It's a work in progress, but hopefully it helps! Smile

Seems I was enslaved by the apparent reality of the Matrix! ("Do you think that's air you're breathing?") But within the film, its parameters, boundries, are sometimes frustratingly indeterminate (a "splinter in the mind"?)...I found no trouble understanding that Neo could support the weight of the helicopter, but Morpheus escaping the bullets....? I guess that's what happened to Jules and Vince in.... Agentjackson (Okay, that's pretty obvious...). I suppose it's simply a question of to what degree the viewer (of the movie? or life?) needs events to be presented explicitly, and corroborated by the reactions of the characters, our surrogates within the "nested" "reality" of the drama, in order to obtain the satisfaction of "realism", which is of course the whole "anomaly" of drama...."we are only players"...Hence the "deus ex machina".... the bullets didn't hit morpheus because neo aimed around him, at the agents

You didn't come here to make the choice. You've already made it. Your here to understand why you made it.
