According to the archetect, Zion will be destroyed either way.
The fact that Neo figgured out that He did not answer his question quicker than the others shows that the "anomaly" gets stronger with each interation.
Zion was created as a backup of a gene pool for the machines, and with the "desminiation" of Neos code back into the matrix, the system is agian "reloaded" and is at a more stable state, thus the backup gene pool, and all outside knowlege of the matrix can be nuked along with Zion, and 23 people picked by Nen can begin to re-populate the gene pool for the next interation of the one. I believe that the first 5 Neos did in fact alow the disemination of his code in order to save the people inside. and this time, being stronger because of the accumlative effect of the "human" factor, and being in love with Trinity is what will ultimately break the cycle. IMHO I dont buy the MIM or Uber matirx theory... time will tell.,...

Well once the "neo code" has been diseminated back into the matrix, its at it most stable state, and zion and all its knowlege aquired the escaped people need be erased for the next cycle, and then rebuilt.
Well, yea my idea is flawed...
The machines are willing to accept lower levels of survival at the expense of the human race...
