»Lot less Joe Public killed in M2 & M3 than M1«

I was watching M1 last night (lack of Broadband at home has allowed me to watch my movies (switching ISPs)), when I noticed the quite high body count of Security Guards and Police.

This seems to have toned down in M2 & M3.

Was this part of the Matrix Philosophy or was it purposely toned down for a reason (e.g. Censors, recent events etc) ?

you kill alot of normal joe public in EtM so mabye thats why

Because Neo is now more like a Messiah and they couldn't show him kill humans.

Uhm, you didn't happen to notice the scene at the end of Reloaded where Neo "does his superman thing" to catch Trinity? There are quite a few cars being tossed around behind him, and I doubt those people survived lol.

How many Joe Publics, alias Red Shirts, got killed in all of the car crashes in the highway chase scene in M2?

Red shirts are incidental to the plot. They are disposable like diskettes. They will reincarnate as extras in another movie anyway.
