»Why does Agent Smith feel emotions?«

He's a machine program. Why would he feel emotions? Especially since his colleagues deviate from his individual feelings of hatred and anger. Why would the Matrix program Agent Smith to feel hatred for humanity and working within the Matrix itself, which would ultimately cause him to act irrational (removing his earpiece to vent his hatred to Morpheus) and to ultimately want to do whatever it takes to destroy the Matrix (Smith virus)? It doesn't make sense.

He represents wall street, CIA, agents of the system... they are rogue and sociopaths, like A.Smith. They feel emotion but its only to fuel there actions.They are not human in terms of compassion of equality, but are humamn when it comes to rage and hate..They are still nothing more than servants. When they go rogue, like AS does and in real life CIA Mossad etc agents do. The Matrix (finacial system) does not intervene because often times the actions of there revolt usually serve the Matrix's needs.
