The origins of the phrase have nothing to do with The Matrix, the phrase became popular in England during the 17th century.

A guy named Guy Fawkes got caught in the cellar of the House of Parliament with gunpowder intending to blow up the building. He was called a traitor, was tried and executed for it and in a gruesome way (hung, drowned, and quartered) to make a statement to enybody who even considered treason.

The phrase became popular during annual sessions held to remind people of the event to make sure it didn't happen again. In England the 5th of November is still commemorated each year with fireworks and bonfires culminating with the burning of effigies of Guy Fawkes (the guy). The 'guys' are made by children by filling old clothes with crumpled newspapers to look like a man. Tradition allows British children to display their 'guys' to passers-by and asking for " A penny for the guy".

The fact that Revolutions premiered on the 5th of November is just a coincidence.

Coincidence, Coincidence? After watching all the Matrix films and especially V, you would still believe ANYTHING the W bros. have done is coincidental. Amazing.

As for Guy Fawkes, and "Penny for a guy." That's awesome, I always wondered why V said that in the subway terminal.

And last I'd like to add that the current "celebration" of Guy Fawkes day in Britain is a exercise in mind control. The running theme is not the celebration of Fairness, Justice, and Freedom. It is a macabre reminder of what the "Powers" do to opposers. Centurys previous the same lineage of British rulers would have a similar tradition. It's called beheading traitors and revolutionaries and display the heads on stakes on the front gates. To make example of them and remind the citizens of the villages and kingdoms that the price for non-conformity and disobedience is punishable by DEATH.

It was a document written by some US government official (like the VP or someone of equal importance) talking about how to bring about submission of the American public. It was written before 9-11

This is hardly an anagram...the set of words in an anagram makes sense. AD ICIN EVOC DEHT doesn't.
