Humans and the Machine City?

In Revolutions, I believe Roland says something to the effect of "No one's been there in a hundred years," "there" being the Machine City. What could this mean? Does this mean that humans have been there before? Perhaps this is a hint?

good question, i believe he could have ment that it has been a hundred years scince the previous one was there. though this is just a theory.
