The first matrix movie taught as about the people vs the machines. But in actual fact the humans really werent fighting the machines.
The humans were virtually helpless against the agents until neo came along.. The humans were really defensive and the machines were attacking. Doesnt sound like an ying yang eqaution to me...It was all one way

At the end of m1 when neo becomes the one.. Neo is infact attacking and the machines are cowering..
Even at the end of m1 neo says that the machines are afraid.

The unfair way that the machine had created had been changed back to how things were originally...

There was no opposites eqaution in place. At least none that the oracle had created.

There are many ways to measure the progress of a "war". Here are a couple:

Your way involves body count and in this context, what you are saying is true. Inside the matrix, the rebels aren't killing jack. Outside, they have EMP-ed a few sentinels. But mostly this is done against a sentinel attack. It would be hard to imagine a Zion attack against them. So mostly Zion is defensive - once again in this context.

Another way is by measuring conquests. In this case, the rebels are not dying off fast enough to offset their growth which is happening by births and through "freeing minds." Since they are gaining ground in this way, it could be said that the advantage belongs to the resistance. Vive le resistance!
