»Timeline theory/idea«

There was a theory on the main page that because of the timeline of 100 years, and it being 2199, with the fight with the robots being around 2050 or 2099 or so, that there couldn't have been 5 Zions - there just wasn't the time for it.
I would like to point out one thing with the timeline and Morpheus's statements "proving" why Zion can't be real. The arguement is that they've been fighting for one hundred years. My arguement is that they THINK they've been fighting for one hundred years. It could easily be much later. Remember Neo's comment regarding the past 5 "One"'s? "Either no one told me, or no one knows."
Could it be that when they restart Zion with the 23 people that the One has chosen, they also lead them to believe that it is much earlier than it really is? That maybe they're telling these awoken people that it is 2199, when in all reality, by now it may be 3199 (ok, that's a stretch, but seriously)? Morpheus did state that honestly, they do not know what year it is.
So, it's possible that it's later and that there have been 5 other Zions. Also, I don't think that everyone alive in Zion has seen all of this 100 years of fighting - maybe the first of them were awoken maybe 50 years prior, and they were told we had been fighting for longer.

Although I too believe in the MiM theory, your rationalization may be off.

Looking at this from a person's view, who doesn't believe in the MiM theory:

You see, if Zion is destroyed then any memory of it would be destroyed as well, along with all its inhabitants. Any equipment found later would be found by the 23 new Zionites, facilitating the belief that they are close to the year when they happened to discover the ships (such as the Nebuchadenezer) which were made in 01 in the mid 21st century in order to compete in the global market (This is mentioned in The Second Rennaisance). Morpheus said it was CLOSER to 2199 but that they don't know exactly what time it is. This is true. Nobody knows what time it is perhaps because they have no memory of anything other than the Matrix and what they have been told by the previous 23 "new" Zionites. The "new" Zionites would know only what the previous One told them and they may have been lied to to inspire hope.
