my thought about that question:maybe Davinci is right but according to me: once smith turned neo into a clone, neo imprisoned smith's code in his and delivered both codes to the source, destroying himself and revealing smith's code to the source. So the source managed to destroy the rest of smiths

well another possibility is that agent smith is "negative" or "opposite" of neo. so their codes were written according to this truth at the beginning. Thus +1-1=0. When they gather, it is an "atom bomb" in matrix triggering the beginning of the recreation or rebuilt of the entire matrix.i this is somehow logical to me, of course I would be glad if you guys share your thoughts if possible

i think to 2 therys r right i think neo let smith turn him in to a clone so he hacked the code to do i atom bome of some kind but only to distroy all of the smiths but that leaves one qiestion how did the orical survive and not get distroyed

how could the agents come back when they were killed?they merged into bodies of ppl. but according to me the oracle is more special than that. If she is a program and most importantly if she's the "mother" of matrix, she cannot be destroyed.I mean even she's destroyed somehow, she can come back from the source without the need to merge into a body or another program. Also without her, the system is not stable(remember what the architect told to neo?)
