I am a very big fan of the matrix trilogy and hate the fact that people sit there disecting it just to drag it down.
You could disect any film and find irrelevant quotes or characters. O.K it was a bit "hollywoodised" in the 3rd film but let it go.You could go on forever critising it but that will not change the fact that it is the greatest and most vast storyline ever created with kickass fight scenes.
If your all so good at creating storylines why arent you out there making movies?

Let it go! ......The Matrix is a great trilogy stop dragging it down!

But the egos of the mediocre demand that they tear something down so they can convince themselves of their worth.

How dare you try to take away their psychological relief mechanism.

You're taking psikey too seriously. He's a joker, but still a lover of good cinema and good matrix all the same.

I personally did not find M3 very hollywoodized.

- The hero and his woman both die
- No ultimate hero of the war -- rather there's a truce
- An r-rated film with not a hint of sex (unless you count Monica's boobs, which I don't)
- A complicated plot which takes thinking and second viewings to figure out, rather than passively munching popcorn
- For being a final installment of a trilogy, it sure left a lot of loose ends.

Wonderful, Brilliant, Lovely, Superb -- this is what cinema is all about.

Hehe, I see Hollywood like the LORD sees ancient Babylon. Some souls escape it, some live a higher code even while living within its walls. It, in and of itself, is a cesspool. And like ancient Babylon, eventually a greater empire will destroy it.

Meanwhile you're right -- finding and freeing the minds of those few is a good goal Cool.

At present, the only competition against The Matrix for the best sci-fi movie of all time is The Abyss *Special Edition*. The Abyss is better as a example of hard science fiction but, quite strangely, The Matrix is deeper than The Abyss. Whitelaugh Whitelaugh

ps - Joker? Vulcans do not joke about science fiction. bazoom!

ps2 - What! No phaser emoticon. This will be reported to the Vulcan Science Academy.

Good one psikey - i like the facetiousness of your 1st comment.

One point - there was a significant amount of graphic sex - don't forget the rave scene where see boobs, gyrating interlocked hips and of course Neo pumping. That was Hollywood's ugly head momentarily sticking in.

Everything that starts in simplicity must grow in simplicity.

Wrong you are, Loctavious. That was in fact the exact opposite of Hollywood sticking its ugly abominable head in, that had Wachowski written all over it, and for good reason too. I guarantee you Hollywood did not want that scene in.

And gimme a break man, you see NO boobs lol. I'd have noticed.

LOL

There is a scene where there is soem ....boob-age Whitelaugh

Not 100% naked boob though. It is...ehm...."concealed" by a transparent piece of clothing (looked plastic).

That's in Club Hel -- Loctavious was talking the sex scene.

NAH BRAW, it was in the Rave Scene - check it again man - there definitely is some boobage under a piece of cheesecloth thin material - possibly the same girl twice maybe - also you see girl's gyrating with girls - which i would have to concede proves your point - possibly (as of recent the 'Homosexual/lesbian theme/plight-of-acceptance-by-society' has become more prevalent and accepted in Hollywood - look no further than Brokeback Mountain fellas - if you haven't seen it, let me tell you now - it may be a love story, but it's sex scene, though showing no nudity, is a lot more graphic than comparable movies),

but i was referring more to sex, nudity and violence as being strong box office attractors.

Good enough. In Club Hel, in the first panning shot of the place, there's a girl with no top on, not that it's important or attractive in any way.
