That one just bugs me.

I know I know, they couldn't have made two amazing sequels if the Osiris had massacred all the machines using an EMP in "Final Flight" ....but they should've, all the same.

It is, after all, apparently "their only defense against the machines."

If they used an EMP against the Machines then the hot-ass Asian chick who was jacked in would have died inside the Matrix before she delivered the package you moron.
God, youre so stupid...
Remember the scene in Matrix 1 where the Neb couldn't use the EMP before Neo got out.
God you're a dumass...

Thaddeus was buying as much time as possible for Jué to get a warning to Zion by getting to a drop point.

I would have thought that much was obvious.

Hey, go easy on Marsoullis. We all forget stuff from time to time. I’ve done it myself. There’s no need for hacking someone down for it. It may be your're turn one day Wink

Perhaps he was thinking that the EMP would take out ALL the machines and they wouldn’t need to send Jué to get warning to Zion

Truth is, even if EMP took out all they could see, more would have been sent from afar and slaughtered them in their disabled ship (from EMP).

LOLOL holy harshness, that's the funniest thing I've seen all day. And not too bright either...

Inevitability's the other among us who like me is thinking like a logician. Set the EMP off immediately and there'd be no need for a warning in the first place.

But he's not the ONLY other. Very Happy

I'm sure this was considered in the writing. The point Max made is that the EMP was fired, it would leave them vulnerable until another ship came along. But who would most likely find them first? And with no way to send warning to anyone. Shocked

I thought the same thing, common error, but think about this, the hovercraft would be down and then it would work if someone retrived it

how ever for those of u calling him done, the could've sent a land runner and then have her get picked up by another craft

Sparks:"I know you don't care about your lives. But please try to think of something of meaning, like my life."
Ghost & Niobe:"Sparks, shut up."

one, u could radio to another craft

if that don't work, send it with a rocket laucher, to defend oneself/create a signal to attract attention

I mean radio before the EMP and also, the rocket lauchers explosion would be the attention grabber, not the sound

I might not remember correctly but they did radio Zion in EtM. And the Osiris itself exploded but they were too far away for that explosion to make much of a difference.

Even so, how would Zion know of the specific problem that faced them rather than just hearing some distant blast that just meant something happened to the Osiris?

No, The Rocket could flag down another ship and then pick up the runner. it wasn't a radio message, it was a recorded message that was dropped in the mail box.

Nah. I remember a staticky transmission from Thad to Lock. And what kind of automated rocket are you talking about?

No
Have A Human Run The Disk Back To Zion. Ok, They Were To Far Away To Transmit To Zion, So They Recorded It To Drop It. The Logos Got The Disk, And Transmitted It To Zion WHen They Were In Range.

What I'm Saying Is Radio To All The Hovercrafts In Range. I Mean They Knew The Sentinals would've found them anyways.
The Other Thing Was Have A Human Run It Back To Zion, Or More Realistically, flag a hovercraft down to pick them up and drive them back. In Order to flag something like that down, your gonna need an attention grabber, I.E. the rocket launcher. Like the one Zee was using. Plus, It Would fend off a sentinal if the runner were discovered

You're still assuming another hovercraft was in range.
They weren't where they were supposed to be. Plus when the sentinels attacked, they went after the antennae.

Your turn. Wink

The Runner Could Get In Range
And MJOLNIR's Antenna Got Cut On The Way To Zion

A runner could get in range of whom? As for the Hammer, you notice they couldn't communicate even their arrival to Zion, and Mjolnir didn't have anyone in the Matrix at the time.

But who would get to Zion first, him or the sentinels, provided he could outrun them in the first place. Those tunnels are huge and full of obstacles.

look at this mathematically, the probability of him getting picked up by another hovor craft increases as he gets near, considering they were directly above it, i think he was some what closer than u give him credit for...

and as i was saying before, there would be no need to run because he would be armed with a rocket launcher. if 2 could take out that drill, then i'm sure 1 would take out more then one sentinal (they do tend to travel in packs)

Mathematically, the probability of him NEVER making it back to Zion at all is 100%. The ship was picked up by the sentinels, and as the films show, they leave no survivors, even if they flee the ship, like Neo, Link, Morph, and Trin did. Plus you add the distance from the surface to the core of the earth, c'mon man. Could you run that far even with nothing chasing you? Could you get there in enough time for your info to mean anything? Capt. Thad made the right decision but your scenario would have some major plot holes if you think about it.

If one rocket launcher could take out as many sentinels as they would send, Zion doesn't need to be warned at all, they don't need Neo, heck they don't even need the APU Corps just more rocket launchers and EMP's. Banneroops

It would work, but unlike bullets, rockets drop off after a certain distance, thus losing it's accuracy. The AMU's were the better choice at the range of the attack. I personally think they should've put some rocket laucher people on the dock with the APU's, instead of just in covert crevacies.

...and don't question me on this one, because i'm studing ballistic forensics.
