1. It is a reference to the mirror theme in Alice
2. A mirror has many meanings (opposite, truth...)
3. Shows that the mind can control the Matrix, the mind "creates" reality in the Matrix
4. Shows that the Matrix is a dream world and Neo is in the process of waking up |
Good observations. After this thread, that one makes a lot more sense.

Let's suppose that the Matrix and the Garden are meant to be similar, what do you make of the scene in m1, where Morpheus offers a red pill and a blue pill to Neo? Morpheus makes it clear to Neo that the blue pill will put him to sleep, but the red pill will give him new knowledge. He will know new things after taking the red pill, he will know the truth. Given that, who might Morpheus be playing in that scene? Is the red pill similar to the tree of knowledge? Neo takes the red pill and is promptly dumped out of the Matrix, ala Adam and Eve. What do you think? I'm not saying there is a 1 to 1 relationship between the Matrix and the Garden of Eden, but I see similarities all through the trilogy. |
That's true, and a good insight, jason.
As C.S. Lewis's "Perelandra" poetically typifies and describes, there were good reasons for Adam and Eve to partake of the fruit when they did, even while it was a sin being against Eloheim's commandment -- but that there would have been greater rewards if they had not partaken of it, and waited. You make the comparison between Morpheus and the Serpent, as I understand. I would sooner compare him to Eloheim in this case -- if Neo is Adam and Trinity is in a sense Eve, since she too was freed, and before Neo -- and she helped free him. Meanwhile Morpheus wished to free Neo and give him knowledge of truth and enhance his life. I believe Eloheim would have done this same thing with Adam and Eve if they had waited, giving them permission to take the fruit and begin their mortal test to prove their worth. Morpheus has the same benevolence, rather than the devious cunning of the Serpent, who did not wish for truth, but rather lied to the first parents, telling them they would not die should they partake.
In any case, you seemed to be comparing him to the Serpent -- but it was Neo you said to compared to the Serpent. Keep going at any rate, this is interesting.

Neo and the Architect

Let's cut to the scene where Neo confronts the Architect after passing through the door of light. I see the Architect as a creator god who is sitting back and watching over his creation. Is the Architect exactly like God in Genisis? No, but I think the two are similar. In walks Neo, and we get a stark visual image. Neo is dressed in all black, and the Architect is dressed in white. I don't think this is by chance. If the Architect is a god, then what is Neo's relationship to Him? Neo was a human being who was given the power to sobvert the Architect's creation. Who gave him this power? Ironically, I believe the Architect gave Neo the ability to change the parameters of the Matirx. Without this element of change, the Matrix would grow stagnant, and the people living within it would go mad. Human beings can't live under perfect circumsances, so Neo was given the power to make the Matrix imperfect. The power to take advantage of the room for growth that was designed into the Matrix by the Architect. GTG but I'll get around to Neo as the Devil sooner or later!

Jesus is a Man in the real world but in The Holy Bible Jesus is a God that can walk on water.
All this stories are telling you that the Holy Bible is made up of Fantasy. |
LOL yeah, since Narnia, Alice, and Superman were all written for the Bible to pattern itself after.
Again shallow, Vinci. You've not even approached the rabbit hole. But ask sometime where to find it, and hint hint, it's not in the Bible.

Again brilliant. You seem to have a problem: when you think, your fingers start typing.
But I like you, {Mic}. You remind me of Donkey from Shrek -- tactless, not the brightest, yet innocent. Every forum oughta have an annoying Shakespearean fool to remind everyone they're not in some kinda dreamworld.

Where in the Bible does it talk about an Easter Rabbit?
What does an Easter rabbit and colored eggs have to do with Jesus Christ?

Sorry I do not know what are you trying to say with this statement?
I have not approched the rabbit hole?
Rabbit hole not in the Bible?
Please were in the Holy Bible does it say "Easter Bunny"
"Easter egg"?
All I know is the resurection of Jesus Christ.
Why is there a rabbit in Christianity?
Why do we color eggs?
Sorry I can't tell what side you are on?
Do we both agree that Easter is a Pagan ritual?

Again, I never claimed the Bible said any such thing.
Indeed there are some traditions within Easter which come from Paganism. None of that has anything to do with this conversation, nor of Jesus Christ. I'm waiting to hear you say something that comes from you personally.

The Mirror in the Matrix it is refering to Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking Glass. The Mirror in Alice is used as a portal to go from the real world into Wonderland.
The phone line is a portal from the real world to The Matrix.
The Rabbit in Alice and in the Matrix makes references to the Easter rabbit.
I already posted this post and you will notice that Neo is Plaing the part of a Pagan God but also how this ritual was incorporated into Christianity.
Easter is a Good example of Pagan rituals in Christianity.
Centuries before Christ the Babylonians had a Male Vegetation God Called Dagon that slept all year long in a cave then around the time of the Spring Equinox the Female God of Fertility named Eostre would come and wake the Vegetation God and he would make everything green.
At the beginning of the Matrix the Christ like God Neo sleeps and is awaken by the Female God Trinity "wake up Neo"
"Follow the White rabbit"
The Fertility God Eostre is later changed to the most fertile animal the Rabbit.
The Story of Easter (The Bible)
John 19 (New International Version)
Taking Jesus' body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. 41At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. 42Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
John 20 (New International Version)
The Empty Tomb
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
If we put 2 and 2 together and If Neo is Dagon and Trinity is Eostre and If Neo is Jesus then Trinity is Mary Magdalene Jesus wife.
