»My theory on why Neo could stop sentinals outside the matrix«

I have read, that a lot of people think that Zion is a matrix within a matrix.... Could be, but I will steer clear from that POV for now...

I have decided to briefly discuss why (my theory) Neo could stop the sentinals outside the matrix..

Lets place things into perspective, and believe that the matrix 'is' in fact real...not a computer simulation, but a world of control.. So some points to work on...theory of course..

* There are controllers on planet earth
* Matrix is defined as society
* Working, Church, Taxes are to keep the mind occupied in the matrix

Now that we've established this...how could Neo stop the Machines. Well if we put it into real life perspective... if you decide to leave society, go into the hills, in the middle of nowhere, plant your own vege's for food.... do you now have to work? do you now pay taxes? do you now go to church? do you now have the controllers against you? The controllers will 'try', but you have more power over them because you are now 'outside' the matrix, outside of society... And if 'freedom' is real... then the controllers actually have little power over you..thus what I understood about Neo stopping the sentinals outside the matrix.

Intresting thought...but i think it doesnt have to do with what the trilogy wanted to say. But since one of the major points of the trilogy was to make people think...i guess its ok

Hehe, I do agree with you, as why i said it was a theory....because I believe the Matrix is one of the most 'open minded' films ever made. For example..

A christian will see only references to Jesus and him being the saviour, that it was written by christians for christians

A Satanist, will see that taking the 'Red' pill (referring to the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, seeing the truth) is in fact the way to be equal to god, as it was lucifer who tempted adam and even to take the fruit..

A conspiracy theorist will see the numbers and its meanings to the elite who control the world...such as the Merovingian bloodline being the bloodline of Jmmanual.

A Buddhist will see the 'Simulacra and Simulation' Concept...that materialism is what controls the world and needs to step away from it

The list goes on and on...

He,he, you're right. This is one of the film's virtues. It can have many "faces", so it can make lots of people think. Its a pity many didnt see this.

My theory is requires some backstory: inside of the matrix, the matrix code is like the Tao. In the first movie when Neo attains enlightenment, it is a lower form of enlightenment (he can see the code, which is like the Tao but he can’t see the real Tao, or the Tao in the real world).
At the end of Reloaded, Neo begins to feel something different (this is a higher form of enlightenment still). It is the real Tao that he is actively feeling and acknowledging (the Tao can be felt, just like how Morpheus said that the Matrix could be felt when they first met). Neo begins to treat the Tao like he treats the matrix code and he can stop the Sentinels.
When Bane blinded Neo, he is able to actually see the Tao. That is the final stage in that enlightenment.
