You are talking about the Goliath comic and intell has read it too. My first post here at the forum was about it. I thought that the novelization would be something different.

And as I said, the idea is too good not to be used, I like to write storie sometimes and as a writer, the idea would be simply to good.
It brings a lot philosophical questions, and is not the philosphy the strongest point of matrix ? |

My theory was that programs need a human being to appear in the Matrix (just like Agents) and that they load themselves in their brain (just like Smith did with Bane except that they take people who accept the programmation), and apparently Archie took a new "shell", probably because the old one died.
I remember in the Mxo storyline, Invalesco (a Vampire) was giving the promise of transforming people from an awakened human into an immortal exile vampire. His promess failed, but the fact that he tried to do it prove that it's not impossible in the concept.
As you see, more and more hints in favor of that theory. |
I have hear "your" theory before and that is that the human brain was part of the original script. Kool. But the Architect's shell is not related. Shoulda said it was related to the Oracle's changing of her shell, I woulda believed that. And the vampire's comments? I fail to see how they support or contradict your point.

The Oracle already said why programs appear that way in the Matrix in Rel. No additional theory is needed.
Enough with the technical stuff. What do you think about the religious symbolism in the movie?

people dying in rl when they died in the matrix was conventional wisdom--i.e. mostly true, but w/out an actual scientific reason. after all, if we die in a dream, we don't necessarily actually die. at some level Neo recognized the innate illogic of Morpheus' belief about the mind/body connection, so when Trinity makes her impassioned plea, Neo chooses to reject conventional wisdom; he makes the epiphanic leap.
his subsequent powers extend from this first, mind altering choice where he rejects the appearance of reality in favor of trying something different.
his powers started to extend to rl as well after his intuitive decision to combine himself w/the program Smith, subsequently making him more sensitive to the machine world as well as being able to defend himself from it. Neo's biological circuitry became partially imprinted w/Smith's AI, giving him an inner awareness of the Source--and the Source of him.
i'm not sure if it helps our case by trying to map Biblical personae onto the Matrix characters. the Architect is no creator, only an artificer, and as such has no imagination, vision, or ability to understand even his own work. the accuracy of what he tells Neo is severely skewed by his limitations, as the Oracle hints.
