[Enter The Matrix]
Sparks: "And for the record, when I cart your bodies back to Zion, do you prefer cremation or the gardens?"
Ghost: "Sparks, your faith in us remains a source of personal inspiration."
Sparks: "Well, I am what I am and I do what I can."
Niobe: "Then, can you shut up and hit the button?"
Sparks: "Your wish, Captain, my Captain, is my keystroke, colon, double backlash, execute, command."

I'm not a Star Trek fan either.

I'm a science fiction fan.

There is more to sci-fi than The Matrix or Star Trek.

Have you seen The Abyss Special Edition? Ever read any SF novels?

You should check out The Abyss. Since you haven't seen it at all, don't waste your time on the theater version. Just get the Special Edition. Mucho better.

What is your take on Babylon 5?

I must confess it is a bit difficult for me to say what I think of the new BSG since I haven't seen it since 2003. When the 2 hour pilot was about to air a friend of mine called me and asked if I was going to watch it and I told him, "NO!" Well he taped it and I watched it later. I must confess it was better than I was expecting.

My bother-in-law used to call the original Battlestar DeCraptica. I suppose it is a matter of what one looks for in a "good" movie. It may be a matter of age but lots of shooting, fighting and excitement aren't a large factor in what I look for in a movie. In Reloaded about 1/3 thru the Burly Brawl I was thinking, "OK, this has gone on long enough." But since I got the DVD I have listened to the conversation between Neo and Smith before the brawl a number of times.

A little exciement is nice but depth and meanig are what hold my attention. An alien race trying to annihilate humans for no particular reason seems just an excuse for excitement so I haven't watched Galactica since I saw the pilot.

I taped almost all of Babylon 5 though. I'm missing 5 or 6 episodes near the end. I've watched the series 3 times and some episodes more than that. To me The Abyss *special edition* is better than Terminator 2 but I just read a review last night saying it drowned the audience because some parts were so slow. Different strokes for diff...

Thank you. I second that.

That's why I couldn't keep watching DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise because they all devolved into that ongoing war story with plots as simple as I used to make up, playing with toy soldiers..when I was 10. I liked the depth and sidepoints made in the original Star Trek (like your avatar) and in TNG but the rest was dissapointing.
