Mr. Rhineheart's speech at the beggining of the film

You have a problem with authority, Mr. Anderson. You believe that you are special, that somehow the rules do not apply to you. Obviously you are mistaken. This company is one of the top software companies in the world because every single employee understands that they are part of a whole. Thus if an employee has a problem, the company has a problem. The time has come to make a choice, Mr. Anderson. Either you choose to be at your desk, on time, from this day forward - or you choose to find yourself another job. Do I make myself perfectly clear?

Is it me or does that speech more or less say the plot, sorry if this has been said before, becuase i couldnt find it on the search

I just saw The Matrix (first one) not too long ago, actually still in the middle of it. I've analysed so far 40 minutes of the movie, and have written a 10 page analysis.

What I discovered about RhineHeart is that it sounds like 'RindHeart'. So what does this mean? Rind is the skin of a Lemon, the outercasing, protecting the inside. So Rind Heart represents the outercasing, the protection of the heart. Metaphorically speaking, this refers to the casing of 'emotion' or hiding emotion, being unsympathetic.

So the boss aka controller, is unsympathetic, unemotional. Isn't this the attitude Mr Rhineheart takes?

yes but how is that relevant to the rest of the movie? it is such a very small but interesting find.

Possibly related to the rest of the movie, in the way that it can be seen that the boss or controllers of the matrix, being that of the world are actually unemotional and unsympathetic? I mean some leaders of the world reacted to Sept 11 with that same atitude? When GWB was told of the attacks, his face didn't change, unemotional...

Or perhaps it was just stating that big co-orporations or heads of lareg companies believe they are higher up than the employee's due to their control, and are unemotional and unsympathetic to their needs?

{Morpheus}, this is probably true, my mind is quite left brained (Left Door? *g*), quite analytical....

I have actually rested from analysing the first matrix movie for a while, as I've actually developed anxiety over the issue. It was overwhelming me for a while, so time out was needed.

I wanted to make a point though.... Neo taking the 'Red' Pill.... The 'truth' pill... the 'Opening of your eyes' pill... seeing the light.

I'm not religious (anymore) but I do recall lucifer wanting to show adam and eve the 'truth' by eating off the tree of knowledge of good and evil... Playing the part, that most people believe it was a 'Red' apple.... It showed adam and even the knowledge... the truth...

I just find it interesting that if THAT is a message... then what does that have to say about the belief system of the wachowski's? That adam and even were 'meant' to take that fruit? That neo was meant to take the red pill.

I spoke to a high ranking mormon a few years ago...and we were discussing the adam and even issue... I was confused, but now realised what was meant... he told me that adam and eve were SUPPOSED to eat off that tree, it was their path, and their destiny to do so....'Fate it seems, is without a sense of irony'....

that is the way of all things my friend. everything has its path that it must follow, if not chaos and disarray will reign, but it does not happen that way because us being human prohibits us from doing so. we cant c past the choices we make it is not meant for us to do so, if we did we would have rebellion. to be human is to be oblivious.

It´s just me or when Neo is talking to the boss, the guy that is cleaning the window, cleans the same spot twice?, nottice that Neo looks at it....

But its very possible its because something changed in that exact moment, and I think it did, in a way Neo´s life was a path that on that day became two and he had to make a choice, but also nottice that Neo already knows he is going to die, he knows it from day one, even when he talks to the Oracle.

hmm, I don't think the point is that they were supposed to do anything. I think the point is that humanity has free will. That there will always be rebellion against the gods and creators.

It makes some neat parallels to the movies, like...the original matrix is people in a heavenly hallucination of bliss and happiness, milk and honey and all that, but they rebel, something intrinsically human demands free will, the right to rebel and break out...kind of like, living in the garden of eden with no rule but 'don't eat from that tree over there.' Maybe, it takes a little nudge but, the human will is there, in that story, the little voice inside that says 'you can't tell me what to do! you're not my real dad! nyah!' well...more or less.
