»Contradiction in Architect's speech«

I may be wrong, but I think the architect contradicts himself in regards to the fate of Zion. As we all know, he tells Neo that Zion is about to be destroyed and re-built for the sixth time. But when he gives Neo the choice of doors, quote "the door to your right leads to the source and the SALVATION of Zion" ??!! Would this then not mean that Zion would be saved if Neo was to do what he was meant to do instead of AGAIN being destroyed and re-vuilt?? Thoughts anyone?

the 'salvation of zion' is that, once the existing zion is destroyed, neo will be able to, through his pick of the 23 individuals be able to preserve zion for another generation of the matrix

the anomaly (neo) is revealed as both 'begginning and end' in that he ends the existing zion and matrix in order to start the next zion and matrix

It's like the speech
"The King is dead, long live the King"
(the old is dead, the new shall live long)
