Zion is real because:

1 The video game Enter the Matrix gives a possible explanation why Neo could feel the sentinels while not being hard wired to the system. The Oracle says (to the effect) that Neo separated his mind from his body and lies trapped in a place between worlds. Perhaps Neo can stop the sentinels because part of his consciousness is still in the Matrix. This could also help explain his coma-like condition. Perhaps after exerting himself through both worlds his physical brain overloaded. You mention this dialogue in the "zion is not zion" arguments and mention a possible
"wireless" connection, but I think it makes a very good explanation of how Neo was able to stop the sentinels in a specific way. Being in both machine and human worlds at the same time could have granted Neo all sorts of 'miraculous' abilities.

2 The site here points out the argument that if Zion is a mwm, then there would be an infinity of layers... and correctly points out that there is no reason not to think it might only be two layers. But regardless of how many false "realities" are created, the fact that the truth has yet to be revealed makes the argument moot: Neo might have had a feeling something isnt quite right, but he isnt ever aware of a false world until he is told about it by others in the newly revealed "real world"... but if this "reality" is also false, then there is no basis to trust in any of the information that comes from that world. There might not even be such a thing as a Matrix.

3 Why would the machines go through such elaborate means to create a way to control the zionites by creating a false reality for them when the machines are planning to destroy them all anyway? If Zion is a second layer, ostensibly it would be so they could continue controlling them. But if they plan on killing them all anyway, it is a waste of their resources.

But I dont sit idly by, I'm planning a big surprise, I'm gonna fight for what I want to be

yes I agree it would be just simpler for the machiens to kill the 1% who don't except the system rather than building a world for them.
and I like your idea about the 'wireless' connection from the matrix. very clever.

It wasnt my idea, I was referencing information listed on this site. Personally I dont think there is a wireless connection except for that of Neo's own consciousness being split into both worlds.

my personal opinion is that the machines created the zion/reload program to stop THE ONE getting to smart.
Let me explain, if you get too clever in the Matrix, you mabey get metally stronger in the real world. So when this happens and you become amazingly powerful (as Neo did in reloaded with the whole flying and everything) you are to die and the architect will kill you. I think that architect is trying to fool Neo, and if you took the door to save Zion he would have died. So Neo didn't die, which is why he can stop the machines outside of the real world

my other thought is that when Neo entered Smith's body, Neo planted some sort of 'virus' into the system through Smith that made the system believe Neo was a machine. If so, the sentinals would be in the same system as the agents (smith commanded the sentinals from inside the matrix) and that is why Neo could stop them. This is also the 'thing' that Neo has stolen from Smith. His machine status.

maybe theres a glitch in the system and so when you get too smart and excede a IQ mark or summat then you get super powers.........................but because the programs dont like intelligent people then they kill them.......because programs are only as intelligent as their maker, and the architect could be quite intellegent but doesnt want people exceding this level......thats why you dont see the guy in the whell chair(woss-his-name)steven halking or einstein............but i wonder what the IQ boundary is........hmmmmmmmmm,bet no-one can beat my Iq coz im not going to post it......it is kinda high but not so much....i think it is in the boundary below genious level.......try beat THAT

when neo is stopping bullets he just puts his hand out and thinks, so one would think (ignoring logic) that neo would be able to stop machines that are only going say....50 mph or whatever vs. bullets going erm. much faster. seeing him stop the machines it looks more like its the work of electricity(electricity would put somone into a coma) so mabey neo being the one has found a new power: extracting electrons from the earth and putting forcingecectrons out his hand thus screwing up a machines mainframe altogether! neo didnt stop the machines- he only disabled them temporaraly because if he stoped them altogether they would pick themself up dust them selfes off and try again. secrewing up an entire manfraim of a machine temporaly would give trinity and morpheus enough time to pick neo up and escape.

you gotta admit thoe, there was defidently some sort of electricity going on there!

A small waste, just another simulation.
