I have not heard of Alex Grey before now, but thank you for the link, his writtings are very intriuging. I do see the connection between what i read "The Vast Expanse" and the Matrix.
The Level/System Theory
As well I noticed Alex talked about Levels, I have actually come up with my own theory of levels, although it may not be in correspondence with his level theory if you will, however my theory of levels is the theory that we all as humans have abilities that are unknown to ourselves. Basically what i mean is that we are for example we are on level 9 and we are trying to get to level 10. Level 9 for example is what we know now, the power of "choice", we do not have Absolute Choice because no matter which way you look at it (religious or not) there are hierarchy's, and they do have a higher level of choice then we do. Whether that hierarchy be the Government or God, we have the "choice" to do good or evil, to murder, steal, or to love and care for, however our destiny's (from a religous perspective) is pre-determined. Because God knows all you are bound to "Fate", therefore you do not have "absolute choice/control". However because we do have some choice we are on a level system. Morpheus has more options of choice then the "networked plugged-in people", so Morpheus would be a level 10, but Neo has even more options or choice then Morpheus because he is the One so he would be a level 11. However this is still not "Absolute Choice/Control" because no matter whom you are or where you are from (Matrix, or Zion), to beat the System you must create a new System. "The Matrix" is a System that controls everyone and everything linked to the network, however Zion is fighting against this System, but in doing so they have formed a system by telling Neo to go and bring peace, he is now part of Zion's System, and therefore does not have "Absolute Choice" he could say "no screw you", but then he would face the consequences of the machines destroying him. Like the Red pill and the Blue pill or the scene when he has the choice to go with Trinity in the car or get out of the car and head back to his life he knows his "comfort zone", if he had absolute choice, he would literally be "God". As far as the Systems theory goes, until us as human’s experience True Enlightenment we will never become truly "unplugged" from the world we know.
Keep the faith, enter Enlightenment
