I didn't criticise syntax though, hippocrite? Punctuation, spelling - yes. But not grammar, or overall writing; a lot of it's perfectly sound, just badly done - and misplaced apostrophes make me cry.
You only have an inner bastard? Oh. Am I spoiling your little sandbox?

I guess that explains that outcroping of days in the life of shallow people acting like children, eating worms, yelling at each other for borrowing their underwear without asking and calling it "reality". I'm just waiting for you to say you work for CBS so I can say, "oh, I see." |
Well, it's a shame, but if a large number of simple-minded individuals watch very little else over a long period of time, this is what happens. Sad but true.

Maybe you should take a good look at a post before responding to it from now on.
And if apostrophes that are misplaced make you cry, your own writings must bring more tears to your eyes than a romance novel. Get a life, pal.

While you're into correcting spelling, delete the "p" in the above sentence to accurately describe what you're doing. And come back when you really have something more substantial to add to the thread(s)/arguments than English lessons.

Correction: pissing on your bonfire.
I would also like to ask you, what is wrong with my post? Everything is in order. There are no misplaced apostrophes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

....before we shift terminally off-topic, shall we get back to the Matrix?
And no, that wasn't a reference to the Bible, or a sinister government conspiracy, or Communism, or drugs, or....etc. Bear in mind it probably would have been if the Watchowski brothers wrote it.

No problem I'm in a humorous mood today for some reason.

Also, missed this post originally, but thought I'd chime in on it now. If anybody is interested in what psikeyhackr is pointing to here, it might be worth your while to research the Golden Dawn. Yeats was a member (as was Alister Crowley), and they are a very interesting little group. They had a lot of ideas about the relationship between psychology and theology.
And Yeats' poem "The Second Coming" is about the very idea that psikeyhackr brought up. And could offer a possible insight into the relationship between Smith and Neo.
William Butler Yeats wrote: | The Second Coming -- W. B. Yeats
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all convictions, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born? |

intell wrote: | First of all, thanks Capt for the humor. But Idealist, for you to do anything to my bonfire, first of all you have to argue against something that I wrote. You haven't. Then you'd have to say something substantial to keep my "fire" from burning. Whenever you decide to make a point here, maybe that will qualify. But we'll just have to wait until then.

Spelling and apostrophes are relevant to the Matrix? LMAO! |
You picked a fight with me, I responded to you. There was nothing in my first post in this thread that made you write to me. I have replied to every one of your posts, holding my position - that is, I have made relevant points in the context of your posts. I have also made 'relevant' (Matrix related) points in other threads.
I'm still waiting for you to justify:

Please. I didn't pick anything with you. But I still think that it is funny that someone make a big deal about spelling and punctuation and make spelling and punctuation mistakes while doing it.

You did pick. It was entirely superfluous. You have not justified yourself yet, and without justification your argument is null. You cannot criticise mistakes that don't exist, and if you do your reasoning is pathetic. Justify yourself, toerag.
This is especially suprising on a website devoted to proving the questionable significance of the Matrix: your unbelievable lack of any ablity to argue properly is truly laughable.

If so, why do you feel the need to argue against it.

In order to have an argument, someone has to present something to either be countered or supported. All you have done so far is Language Arts. When you are ready to discuss something besides words you just found in the dictionary, let me know.

I feel the need to argue against it because you questioned me. I answered, or rather countered, but then you came back again. This became an argument and you were genuinely incapable of providing anything valid.
I'm always ready to discuss pretty much anything, so, fire away.

Speaking of correct punctuation....
Lets see how that post would look when corrected.

Thats better. Notice how I took out all the big words that you used to make yourself sound smart and dignified. Also, see me after class you can correct this for half credit.

Just for the record, genius. I wasn't correcting anyone's punctuation. My point is, if you do so, try not to use incorrect punctuation while doing it. But at least Idealist knows what punctuation is. You mention the word and then proceed to pick at the words used. This has nothing to do with punctuation. Punctuation involves the use of periods, commas, apostrophes, subjects and predicates. But why do I need to post that to you? You're the teacher, right? I think you let your apples ferment too long.

Who calls them "big words" anymore. You must be from the Ozarks.
Do you notice that the only contributions you two have made to discussion involve correcting the posts of those who actually have something to say? I left the thread for about 20 hrs and this is still the case. What do you think accounts for this?
Azafael, you mentioned the things in society that point to humanity being the cause for its own mental confinement. I agree with you there. But let me ask you this:
Who do you believe the W's are representing in the Oracle and Architect characters? Merovingian?
