What is this? Are all those damn newbies trying to have a go at me or what?

So I say: heey fuck you!

There was no other way for the W-brothers than the commercial way. They smartly used Joel Silver's greedy little eyes. They used 'the system' in order to whip it's own ass.

The producers were blinded with money when they gave the brothers full authority so that they would make another 'bullet-time-high-action-packed' blockbuster, but instead they made a profound philosophical work of art.

These guys deserve to be rich! They made something that no-one else would have tried or even think about. They are unique. They made a trilogy that will be a metaphor for one's own enlightenment and it will be cherished for centuries to come. They truly spread the word of 'God' while they used Satan's mechanism to spread it: they are supreme brilliant.

So again, I say: fuck you! They deserve every dime I spend on them.

Hahaha. Hadnt read this topic and just did now. Its silly. Its silly to think that a videogame is always taken as seriously as a multimillion dollar trilogy. I mentioned this elswhere. Dont take games too seriously. Stick to the films.

I watched the video with the Wachowskis (or rather their silly digital representations). It is STUNNINGLY OBVIOUS that they are joking and making fun. It doesnt even seem to be their own voices. It all seems like a South Park Terance and Philip twist LOL. And they even explain why the Path Of Neo game has the ending it does.

I mean...seriously....how can people who play the game , and seen this video, be pissed that the Wachowskis "screwed the ending" ?

But there is a reason. Its what i said in the begining. They had certain preset expectations of the game, and its ending. They werent fulfilled, and now they are whining.

By the way, i havent played the game but i've seen parts of it (my bro has it), and it looks cool.

Well said Mobil.

If you think the game sucks, try pacman guys. Whitelaugh

Well you don't know either, so what are you mingling in?

If you don't like what they did then what are you doing here?

I was a little dissappointed in both games myself. I know that many people consider them "just" video games, but the Wachowski's originally stated they wanted a multi-media story. They wanted games, books, movies, cartoons all to tie in together to create one huge Matrix-verse all written by them. In so doing, they were going to bring some intellectual attention to comic books and video games the way they had to films (all three considered "inferior" art forms here in America).

But they first dropped the ball with Enter the Matrix for me in that Ghost and Niobe's scenes are recycled. That really irked me because if the game is meant to be taken as another part of the Matrix storyline, then when I play through as Ghost I should get a totally different (albeit parallel) story from playing through as Niobe.

Similiarlly, Path of Neo shouldn't offer a different ending from the trilogy (if it is truely an expansion of the Matrix storyline). It could, however, have ended at a different point. Maybe you go through Neo's satori but then you find out what happens with Neo's body after. Something like that. Instead though, they went for the Queen ending. This ending grew on me after dissecting Larry's speech, but I still don't exactly like it.

Until reading this post, I didn't know anyone was ever looking for answers by playing a video game that is brainless by its very design. I've been digging hard and deep for a long time for answers to the Matrix movies, and The Path of Neo is the ONLY form of media I am not looking at in the slightest manner.

However, it does have its own merits. I think it's brilliantly hilarious what the Wachowskis did with the big boss idea. They're poking fun at the whole fighting/shoot-em-up genre - all games need a big boss at the end, and the big Smith is literally that. And when you hear Larry's voice accelerating faster and faster during the video introducing the big boss, it's clear that they are well aware that the people playing that game are probably not searching for deep philosophical answers by playing such a game... I think they're even making fun of their own esoteric tendencies.
