He is not an exile anymore.

Thanks to the Oracle he has a legit purpose --> Seraph: "You have no need to thank me. I am forever indebted to you." (from "Enter the Matrix")

This is also said on one of the specials in the 10-dvd-boxset. There is an exclusive session that speaks of all the exiles and Seraph is not part of that special. In fact there is a seperated little special devoted to Seraph: guardian of the Oracle.

but still Seraph was indeed a former agent of the first Matrix which was paradise, thus an angel, thus the golden code Neo sees when he enters the teahouse. Other clues are the one henchman saying "damn, he's wingless" and Merv saying "the prodigal son". Also when he encounters Smith he says "I have beaten you before", indicating that he is much more powerful than the average agent. Seraph has found a new purpose through the oracle, that's true. but his history is clearly rooted within the first Matrix

You don't know that for a fact.

If we are assuming about agents from ancient Matrix versions than I would rather guess that the Twins were the agents.

well, rather not. The Twins are clearly "ghosts" and we know from all Movies that Agents don't look alike. Since the first Matrix was perfect (paradise) you rather have Angels as guaridans than ghosts. And Seraphs name already implies this connection.

Was I talking only about version 1?

Look at the Twins, they talk the same as agents: roboticly and calmly.

Gee, that's it. That proves they're former agents, they're speech that is. They used to work for DEA until they took a liking to the substances they wer supposed to destroy and they grew their locks to show support for the legalisation of it, yep. Its all clear now.

That was just my stupid assumptious argument just like the argument from the other guy.

A very big percentage on this forum is about (personal) assumptions.

So live with it.

i found this on the net from answers.com... it is a small passage talking about seraph or his biblical name seraphim.

Quote:

The seraphim are described by Isaiah (vi. 2) as having six wings; and Ezekiel describes the ḥayyot (Ezek. i. 5 et seq.) and ofanim as heavenly beings who carry God's throne.

after reading that and reading what mobil had written i came to the conclusion that seraph was the Merv's right hand man the protecter of his throne. You see i think that when the merv became an exile he liked the matrix so much. But i believe he had power a little to much of it before he became an exile and thus why he became one. So i think the merv wanted to make the matrix like hevan. But i believe that something happen and seraphs wings were clipped sort of speaking hence the line; "shit it's wingless".

And thus Seraph became an exile. but i would like to know how or even why he start working with the orical. was there some significant event in the hiostory of the matrix that lead to this partnership. Could it be for the fact that the orical was target for assignation. possible even by seraph and that is why he became an exile. or was it do with Smith.

From Matrix Reloaded wrote:

Smith 1 - That went as expected

Smith 2 - Yes

Smith 1 - It's happening exactly as before.

Smith 2 - Well not exactly

So is it possible that smith is as old as the matrix as well, and the reason why i state this is because he says somthing to seraph in M3 that makes me believe that he has had dealings with him in the past, concerning the orical. But Smith cant remember it because of the previous six reloadings. But when he absorbs the orical her powers may have trigger somthing that made him remember.

So is it possible that Seraph and smith have had clashes in pervious cycles of the matrix or was it first time smith met seraph and the seventh cuycle of the matrix.

I hope the Wachowskis hurry up and make another anime about the first One like they said they might. Put Seraph, Smith, Oracle, and of course Archie in it, will ya?

I had given up hope that Seraph's gold code meant anything more than that he was a former Angel/Agent. But then I read the other day on one of the Ken Wilber sites where Ken says to Larry that the color scheme breaks down like this-

Gold=Spirit
Blue=Body
Green=Mind

Larry of course doesn't confirm or deny this, but interpreting the colors in this way I think Seraph's importance rises to the surface again. As a purely gold being he is a being of extreme spirit, glowing golden.

Interesting to then note though that his favorite form of interaction appears to be physical (i.e. fighting).

i always saw it as like a gray-sliver colour, which would go against the gold code Neo sees

No matter about the color.

The fact is that it is an integral trinity.

Zion --> body
Matrix --> mind
Machines --> spirit

A human has this 'trinity' inside of him also. To life a 'perfect' life you should be at balance and peace with all three of them. This balance was achieved by Neo at the end of M3.

Maybe that's why Trinity is called Trinity. She plays a role for Neo in all three dimensions...

Body --> nice hot fuck in Zion
Mind --> Neo's mind is so powerfull thanks to his love for Trin
Spirit --> her death made him step into the state of 'Nirvana' / 'Satori'

The word Seraph means Angel. This proves the theory that he is an angel. I.e in Poe's Annabell Lee Poe writes about the "winged seraphs in heaven".

Why are you wearing that stupid human suit?

I Think The Twins Are Old Agents, But The Intangablity Thing Is Just Them Understanding The Rules Better. Morpheus Said, "There Are Many Rules. Some Can Be Bent. Others Can Be Broken. I Think That The Twins Are So Used To Breaking The Rules That They Can Make Themselves Intangible, And That Has Nothing To Do With Ghosts

Sparks:"I know you don't care about your lives.But please try to think of something of meaning,like my life."
Ghost & Niobe:"Sparks, shut up."

Thanks for the support! Smile

I think they were just allowed to become air.

The agents as we know them now (in Matrix version 3) can quickly use any bleupill to transport themselves through the Matrix.

I think the Twins were agents from Matrix version 2. Instead of using the bluepills as host, they were standalone 'ghosts'.

So found this that is suppossedly taken from the "Path of Neo" gamebook:

"The Oracle's guardian, Seraph is an 'Exile' program, existing within the Matrix but free from its control. After being freed by the Merovingian, he served as a hound for the exileist Frenchman for some time thereafter. Following some sort of altercation, Seraph quit the Merovingian's service and became the Oracle's bodyguard. In hand to hand combat, Seraph is a powerful fighter on par with Neo. Before leading visitors to the Oracle, he challenges them to a fight. Durring the course of the fight, he is able to determine the proper identity of the person and determine whether or not he should let them see the Oracle. Therefore, Neo must fight Seraph in order to speak with the Oracle."

I just realized something. Seraph says he is indebted to the Oracle. He owes her for something she did for him. Look at the description above which states that Seraph "quit the Merovingian's service." From what we know of the Merovingian, you don't just quit working for him without paying a price. Did the Oracle pay a price for Seraph just like she did for Sati? Is the Oracle gathering programs to herself for some big plan she has--that goes beyond the end of the third movie? If she paid Seraph's price, what did she give the Merovingian? And what was the altercation that prompted all this? Prequel alert! Prequel alert! Untold story that just BEGS to be told!

Absolutely. Is there more going on than Zion vs the Machine World? Believe it!

intell, I would love it if you would say more about your opinions on the importance of the Exiles. I know you've been leaning in that direction recently and been trying to spark conversation, so please give some of your thoughts. Are the Exiles the equivalent of Zion and the Merovingian the program version of the One (who perhaps at some point lost his way)?

"When we first came here...he was different. He was like [Neo]."

Merv knows about the game/war and made his choice along time ago to not be a part of it. There are some who shared his pov, and there are those who are just trying to save their...um lives, who join him. You notice both sides in MxO don't like him that much, so I would say most talk of him 'losing his way' is based on the opinions of 1 or more sides. Wink
