I discovered that the new cinematics are only in-game and no longer available to the public?

I don't think this is really fair. Aren't we all entitled to know what is happening in the Matrix Universe?

Isn't there anybody out there, who can brief us on the storyline here?

Can't the Wachowski's mingle in then?

They have the ultimate rights to the story don't they?

But I am sure anyone can inform us who owns the game.

Come on, please share!

Oh if that's the case, then I am not interested Smile

"Path of Neo" is much more interesting then.

My understanding is that Warner Brothers and the Wachowski Brothers still hold the rights to the continuing story, and that Paul Chadwick is still performing the writing tasks as he was before. The one glaring difference since Sony took over is the extremely limited interaction with the Live Events Team via in-game characters from the movie. During the last Live Event, I heard that there were interactions with the Assassin (since the Event was all about killing him), but I don't know if he was an NPC or controlled by an actual human. I hope this is not a continuing trend, because pretty much everyone I know--including myself--thought that getting to interact with movie characters that were controlled by actual humans was a very cool and exciting concept.

They would be available to the public if SOE actually bothered to update the website. For months the majority of the thematrixonline.com... has been stuck on "Content is currently being updated"

What is really going on? Do they not have enough staff/time/money/people who know what they are doing? Take the last live event, 1 employee accidently posted up the full event details and outcome on the main website before it even happened. It took them 5 hours to get the leak taken off the site and appologise, 5 hours? things like that shouldn't happen, should they? Why or where was the rest of the SOE MxO staff, is it really just one persons job Nono

First SOE live event and that happened, not to mention some of the bad planning, the mass crashing and lagging and then not being able to get back in the game is the norm Whitelaugh

The Wachowski's, who even knows what influence they have on the game anymore, If only they'd reassure us or something, it's almost like they have abandoned it since the move to SOE.

I'll see if I can upload and post the cinematics later so you can view them and some other information. The Story in general hasn't moved very far at all, so now we await the next live event, should be fun Screwy

The Assassin is dead and now there's a new "threat." Some military type programs that say they're there to help, but who knows?

Flip a coin. Choose heads or tails but, if you knew every variable, there would be no choice, only an answer. That is how the Architect works.

Cinematics past to present after Morpheus' death:

Cinematic 2.1

media.putfile.com...

Cinematic 2.2
media.putfile.com...

Cinematic 2.3
media.putfile.com...

Cinematic 3.1
media.putfile.com...

LET characters still make appearances but so far it has not been outside of live events. The Assassin, Niobe, The Oracle, Seraph, The Merovingian etc. when they do appear in game played by MxO staff you do have a chance to ineract with them. Even if its just as little as running around and
getting repeatedly killed by the assassin Whitelaugh

For the end of the event, the Assassin split into five instances, four of which players got to kill by everyone working together and by using a flit gun (Like the ones seen in the cinematics) The fifth instance of the assassin as seen in the last cinematic was killed by an unknown redpill, who still remains unknown Whatnow

Any questions? Whitelaugh

Firstly, very very very much thanks for sharing the cinematics with us!

Very cool to see Merv and Persephone again!

What I don't understand is, in cinematic 2-2, the assassin dissappears into the phone and the other guy follows. Where does it lead?

Is there already more known about the army-guys? I don't understand why they are there, aren't agents good enough anymore?

Good question, in terms of the movie it would obviously take them into the real, but seeing as hardlines in game take you to other locations as well as jacking out and in to the matrix it is more likely that it just takes them to another location. Somehow it doesn't seem very fitting how a phone just happens to be in that location and acts as immediately accessible exits for both characters. Also some people think the unknown redpill is possibly the Kid as he is supposed to play a large role in the game at some point.

They are old military programs, led by a new character known as The General, possibly they were what was before Agents. So far they have approached each org with different agendas. To the Mervs they have offered to be allies, to the Machines they have assured them they only want to help prevent the matrix from becoming unbalanced and to Zion they have also offered to be allies but also stating they wish for freedom of all beings that have conciousness and they have obviously been dropping the don't trust the frenchman leaflets. So their exact purpose within the matrix is still unclear.

SOE has failed to carry on the great reputation that this game had at the very start, Monolith was doing a way better job. It does, apparently, seem as if there is a very short limited number of people that are actually working on the nuts and bolts behind of what is The Matrix Online.

What was the come in the most recent event we had, was accidently posted on the main MxO site. Five hours later it was removed and an apology was posted. You would expect better performance for such a huge game like this. Tons of technical problems, and I mean TONS. Take for example the first event. Bunch of "Red Eye Agents" attacking randomly from all directions, I was running on dial-up and to despite to intense action of numerous of players fighting these agents, the lag was hardly ever felt. And now, I have a cable connection, but the lag is pretty much where ever you go, regardless if theres any action or not in that area. I could ramble on and share with you all several other problems, but I think I've done my share of spamming for now.

About the recent event. I have several theories of who these commandos are. Note one of them says, "humans." So these could possibly be machines, exiles, or better yet a group of mercenaries or perhaps traitors to either the machines or Merovingian. Since they do state something about them going to whom ever needs them the most. From the Zion Critical missions, we find that they were willing to work with us (Zion) but we denied this offer. From the missions, we also found out that they were working something with some exiles. Now if they are trashing the city with signs that read, "Do Not Trust The Frenchman" this means that they weren't working with The Mero himself directly, these exiles the commandos were meeting with must be traitors to the Merv? Maybe? They could infact be, as Zesja said, what was before Agents. And now they simply want to keep The Matrix alive or they have some other purpose. Nothing else has been put out yet about who or what these soldiers want though.

Now I've been here long enough and remember several discussions on who exactly Kid is. I also remember some of you out there pointing out a possibility that Kid could infact be another One. Now note that one of the commandos says something about the humans predicting the return of the One. So now we have this huge speculation of Kid possibly being a One. I do realize that mostly everyone believes that there wont be another One, I'm simply stating this theory because I know I have read around here possible reasons why Kid could be another One. Point is, that Kid could have been the character we see to have killed the last Assassin. It is very awkward indeed to see a hardline just there on the ground in the middle of a garbage ship thing. Not sure what to say about that right now.

We'll keep you guys updated on game content as much as possible. Very Happy

Thanks again!

Such a shame to hear that you folks are being screwed for your monthly fee Sad

Regarding the red eyed agents...

Weren't they a remainder of Smith? And are they dealt with now or still walking around?

And didn't they mean with the "return of the One" that they would reconstruct Neo's RSI?

They could infact mean that, yeah. Because in the first event we had to find RSI fragments that were part of Neo, which Morpheus believed that we could've brought him back using them. Who these Red Eye Agents were and how they came about was never concluded, but their purpose during that event was the stop everyone from getting the RSI frags.

Well not much really. Except that after now killing the Assassin, it seems that his weapons have gone missing. There is also a mysterious magician named Cryptos whom is believed to be working for the Cypherites, which are a group of Zion traitors hiding behind bandanas.

Mostly what the dev team has been working on lately is a combat revision and a test server for everyone to test out new patches and what not.

Sure. Just make sure to create a character on the Recursion server. Zesja here is leader of The Infinity Of Zion, which is our group in game. If your interested in joining whenever you first jack in, contact her or myself (my name is SystemCtrl) or anyone else that has our faction name on their tag. Cool
