Sure its possible that a Matrix within a matrix could exist. Imagine your computer and for anyone who has ever run any sort of emulator to run another program could begin to understand that this is possible but as to where its magnitude and esixtance is yet to be explained

'MwM' is a really rubbish idea, do you really think the Wachowskis would use an idea like that, saying that it would answer some questions. But I would expect more from the brothers

The Real World is the world of the physical body.
It's where Neo really can depart from his last materialistic need: Trinity's body.

Also, if the Real World is a Matrix, then Neo could 'feel' Trinity too.

Well you could be right in a way.

In the esoteric teachings it is said that everything is an illusion in the way back to God.

So for that matter the Real World could be an illusion too.

If you look at the ease how a program can fully dominate and control a human being (Bane), you could indeed have questions around these happenings.

But I think in the movies, the Real World is our world as we know it. The things Neo does in the Real World aren't really 'amazing', because psychokinetics (moving and manipulating objects by thinking it) is scientificly proven.

I believe the reason MWAM is such an enduring theory is because it is not far from the truth. The real world in the movies is not a computer simulation. You will draw nil if you try to find support for this within the context of the films.

But ask me if machine control extends beyond the matrix and I will say, yes. This is because of the necesity to maintain the status quo.

I think the problem with the end is, that is is somewhat uncoupled" from reality. This may be difficult to accept at first (it was for me) as the first movie and most parts of the second movie where somewhat (SiFi-)realistic.

So do not measure it in terms of "real" or fantasy. It is the meaning, the symbolism that counts here.

It's like with Jesus walking on the water. It is not important if he really did that or not. The only thing that counts (and the purpose of this story) is what the author/narrator/whoever wants to express with it.

So far you are only speculating in layers of reality as they go up and down. One matrix inside of another, and another, ect. But it is entirely possible to have parrallel universe's sitting right next to each other. In other words... you'd have 5 (any number, or even infinate number) different matrix's running at the same time, each independant of the other. Time travel in science fiction often plays off of this. The movie is intended as a metaphor of our own world. To wake up from our own matrix. In this sense, we are all encouraged to follow the path of enlightenment. But for the purposes of the film, you can only have so many enlightenments since each requires a rebirth, and if you keep waking up to new layers of reality, you are going to lose an even larger percentage of the audience then they did already. At a certain point, they have to live in one of the reailtys and resolve the problems there or the plot gets lost.

Nope, imposible event, if there would be "infinite" matrix's one ontop of the other, then the machines would be crazy, cuz each matrix implies a "systemic anomaly" to deal with, thus, if there were "infinite" matrix's, there would be "infinite" anomalies, which can not be posible if the matrix is a solution from the machines for a better world.
There can only be ONE matrix, or TWO matrix's.
