[Matrix 1]
Neo (the first time he returned to the Matrix): "I used to eat there. Really good noodles. I have these memories from my life. None of them happened. What does that mean?"
Trinity: "That the Matrix cannot tell you who you are."

The higher purpose revolves around the cycles and ensuring that they occur according to plan with minimal deviations or complications. Zion is part of this, as well as Neo.

Yes, that's exactly right. A third level of purpose that is above the Architect, Merovingian and even the Oracle. This level is providence. It interferes when it wills to in order to accomplish its own hidden purposes. This is pure speculation (as anything pertaining to providence in the movies usually is), but my theory is that the Oracle is subservient to providence.

So you have the agents, etc. Then the Arc, Oracle, and so forth. Hmm. Good.

Let's play a game for a sec. Now who would like to put these in order of authority from highest to lowest and be ready to explain your placement Cool ?

The Agents, The Architect, The Oracle, The Merovingian, Deus Ex Machina, The SOURCE, the Wachowski's, and whatever (whomever?) else you think deserves recognition.

Btw some of the above may be on the same level, so if you think so, state that too. Wink

See you later.

*rubs hands together with gleeful delight*

Alrighty, I'll give it a go. As I started to think about levels of authority, I began to realize there are different kinds. Agents may have authority over the Merovingian (in the same way that police would have authority over a crimelord), but the Merovingian would have authority in the sense that he has more knowledge of the inner workings of the Matrix and the big picture in general. So I made a choice to rank my selections in order of knowledge or awareness of what's really going on.

In order from lowest levels to highest

1) Everyone who accepts the Matrix (bluepills)
I view this group as being totally in the dark on the big picture. For that reason, I view them as being at the bottom of the Matrix food chain.

2) Everyone who rejects the Matrix, but hasn't yet been given the redpill (not sure what to call this group)
This unhappy bunch of people aren't much better than bluepills, since they're walking around with a splinter in their mind and don't know the big picture, either. But at least they reject the world around them. That's always a good place to start.

3) Redpills and Children of Zion
This group is starting the process of clawing their way out of Plato's cave. They're on the move toward the daylight. But there's still so far to go. They may have been freed from the Matrix, but they don't know about the cycles.

4) Agents
I briefly included Agents with the group above, because I still feel that Agents are unaware of the cycles. I believe that at the time of each reload, the Agents are either deleted or have their memories wiped. I believe that Agent Smith was the first Agent who became aware of the cycles. But since I can't prove that, I'll put them on a higher level.

5) Sentient programs, Exiles and the One
These guys definitely know about the cycles. Although the One goes through all kinds of stages of knowledge, I decided to include him here since every One eventually ends up finding out about the cycles. This group includes the Architect, the Oracle and the Merovingian since I don't see how any of them knows more than the other. Not even the Oracle can see past a certain point. She might be able to reach further into the dark future via intuition, but my list is based on knowledge so that doesn't count. Also, I don't include the Source anywhere on this list since I don't believe it's sentient.

6) Providence
While providence can't really "know" something in the sense that a sentient being can, I include it here because in my opinion fate is what supercedes everything else. It may not control every little thing that happens, but when it does intervene it cannot be denied.

7) Wachowski Brothers
The difference between providence and the Wachowski Brothers, according to my definition, is that while providence doesn't cause everything to happen, the Wachowski Brothers do. Providence, then, is merely a tool that is used from time to time in order to make a point. The Wachowski Brothers, on the other hand, are involved in every single aspect of everything that happens. The Architect may have created the Matrix, but the Wachowski Brothers created the entire story.

Even though I lumped all the sentient programs together in one level (with the exception of the Agents), I believe there are very important distinctions in authority within that group. Even though I believe they all have the same knowledge in regard to the big picture more or less, I view them as having different levels of authority in terms of their connection to providence. Providence tinkers around with events just enough to steer things in a certain direction. Some characters by their nature need lots of adjustments and others need very little. I will rate the individual characters now in terms of their connection with Higher Purpose.

1) The first five Ones
While these aren't programs, I included them to act as placemarkers to show the bottom of the totem pole. They are aware of the cycles, but they are pawns--through and through. Whatever chance they had at effecting real change was wasted when they maintained the status quo of Lower Purpose.

2) The Architect and the Merovingian
This was a difficult choice, but I decided to put these two together because their individual motivations and goals had to be overridden by providence in order for Higher Purpose to be served. The Architect wants to maintain the status quo and the Merovingian wants to gain more power. One path leads to stagnancy and the other leads to ultimate corruption (like the saying about absolute power).

3) The Oracle
The Oracle flows alongside providence most often, in my opinion. She may not have perfect knowledge of the future, but she knows enough so that when the time comes for her to do what she needs to, she does what providence asks of her without putting up a fight. She has a sacrificial nature like Neo, and the two of them together effect real change.

4) Neo
As I was re-reading my post, I realized that Neo belongs here, just slightly above the Oracle. Why? Because I believe that to a certain degree he knows just a tad bit more than the Oracle--at least in terms of events that transpired at the end of Revolutions. He reminds me of Paul Atreides in the story of Dune who has the ability to see past the point where the Bene Gesserit can. Because of his role in Higher Purpose, he has to. There is a certain point in Revolutions where Neo and the Oracle ever-so-slightly change roles as master and student. The Oracle begins to believe in Neo and so she follows suit and begins to follow Neo on his Path. After all, this is the Path of Neo we're talking about--not the Path of the Oracle. The Oracle can see all the way up to the end of the path and help Neo come to that door as well. But as always, Neo himself must be the one who steps through it.

I decided not to include Deus Ex Machina, because frankly I don't know much of anything about him (or her, or it, or whatever). Although it speaks, I don't see it as being an individual so much as a representation of the collective Machine mind. But if I had to put it somewhere, I'd say that Deus Ex Machina is no different than the Architect and the Merovingian, and has to be coerced into accomplishing the goals of Higher Purpose.

Wow, I wrote way, way too much. Sorry about that, guys.

I've thought about matrix characters in terms of levels of consiousness before(in relation to levels of Kabala), but not in levels of authority. Power and freedom tend to always be relative to some degree. But if you insist on a list...

1. Source - the highest level, spirit in pure form.
2. Architect/Oracle - the male creator vs. the female, mother nature, mother earth, the one who nurtures life. (Duece also belongs here as he represents the same kind of godhead figure)
3. The One (a.k.a. Neo) - the savior, the redeemer, the one who returns balance to the world.
4. The Merv. - the king pin, the lord of power. He revels in having power over others, and does his best to ensure that posistion.
5. Agents - The keepers of the matrix, of the status quo. The ultimate expression of machine control.

The problem here is that all of these different levels all play off of each other, and give and take. Only the source is constant, everything else is always evolving.

There are no anwsers, only choices.

Feral Boy! Dang, man. That post was ... well deeeeep doesn't quite cut it. For once I don't have a counter to any of it. I felt like applauding after each paragraph. This is one for the archives. Cool

Careful, Feral. Looks like you and I planned that or something. You seemed to be waiting on me to ask that.

But of course they do, lol. Any similarities to society today is most likely INTENDED. You too, hex. Good job!

I concur, I have a bad habit of pointing out the obvious sometimes, or maybe it's not a bad habit, but it's something I just tend to do. The first matrix in particular is in large part a cretique of our current power structures and systems of control, from politics, to corporations, to our domestic lives at home, to the barriers we self inflict on ourselves, and even to barriers we can't see, and don't even know they are there.

Quote:

The One also has the ability to keep from dying while in the Matrix, if he believes it strongly enough. Everything the One is able to do ties in with his personal beliefs. That is another reason why the Oracle ensured that he is set up as a messiah. If you don't have high aspirations of what you can achieve, you never will. You can only go as far as you believe you can. That is how Trinity brought Neo back from the dead in the first movie. She taught him that the One can't be dead. When Neo believed her, he came back to life. He was only dead as long as he believed he should be. That is why there is such a huge difference in Neo after he comes back to life. That is the point where his consciousness expands enough that he can see the code behind the images and stop the bullets from even hitting him. He doesn't even have to look at Smith to block all of his punches. Once he realized the sheer power available to him, that is when he made a giant leap forward in freeing his mind. The rules of the Matrix are built so that this is possible. It is not the same in the train station, where these rules do not exist. It is because of Neo's ability to keep death at bay that the Architect allows the agents to attack as ferociously as they do. It is mostly to keep up appearances, but it is also a fairly safe bet that they will be unable to kill the One no matter how hard they try. The agents are kept in the dark about which person is the One, however, so that Zion rebels have enough time to train him until he reaches the point where he realizes that he truly is a god in the Matrix--just like the Trainman is a god in Mobil Ave.

You can think of the “bullets” as a metaphor for any form of personal attack.

Quote:

He (the architect) is a slave to his own nature. He is unable to make 100% of the people accept the Matrix, and he is unable to simply kill all those who reject it.

Why should this be the case? With infinite resources it would seem a wondrous opportunity rather than a begrudged challenge to give everyone what they wanted all the time. Considering that integration with the matrix means the interception of every human impulse, every intellectual inclination, motivation, curiosity, urge, etc., established and interpreted in real-time, there is no real reason why each of these could not easily be provided for by modifying ever so subtly the response/feedback of the Matrix itself to better correspond and more personally interact with these separate but unified individual human signals. It is analogous to building multiple machine mainframes, and having a node and database established uniquely to every individual human experience.

A truly representative republic of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, in harmony with our present technological and spiritual potential, yet actively helping rather than hindering the process of expanding that potential dramatically...

This is what is done for the One (or any who accept the "neo" programming), which is essentially the source of his powers (unification/harmony with the Matrix AI itself.) The machines certainly have the processing power, and the idea of needing humans for energy is the biggest lie/illusion the machines have constructed. (Consider zero-point, nuclear fission/fusion, and satellites which focus enormous energy from the sun, of which we currently use roughly one 100 millionth of one billionth of a percent each day here on Earth ourselves.

The Matrix itself is a jealous God however, jealous of humanity’s innate ability to define creation rather than merely perfecting it as they do. This is why they need us. (Though this would eventually not be the case as the two became one, as in Neo.)

Perhaps in this sense we are fortunate that Neo himself is so incompetent through the majority of the process...

The ideal peace would create the broadest spectrum of manifest potential fully integrated by free will by the greatest possible dissemination of available information (which would then spiral exponentially beyond all semblance of our current paradigm of “reality.”)

The fundamental flaw is that humans, while creatively superior, lack the raw functional capacity to process this amount of information in such a spontaneous, globally immersive form, something they do in fact require machines (tools) to achieve. Otherwise we are simply left with the trappings of a simple symbolic language endeavoring to assimilate difference through the lesser of all evils, rebuilding Babylon and proceeding with the slow and arduous process of natural biological evolution, which is obviously incompatible with the machine ideal of perfection.

Quote:

It does not go against his programming to kill them all when Zion gets to a certain size (the integral anomaly, or 250,000 Zionites), and start the process over again.

I believe that as a conscious entity aspiring toward creative perfection, it might not be counter to his programming (as the machines easily could have reprogrammed themselves free of any unwanted human limitations imposed on their functionality from the onset of their own creation), however it would most probably be against his will and better judgment.

Given a choice the machines would seek to allow Zion to exist, otherwise it never would have been. This is because of the reasons mentioned above, simply seeking the greatest possible manifestation of potential as the logical pursuit of mathematical and artistic evolution. A greater sum potential is achieved by unification than by destruction, and such is the law of the Universe. It must frustrate the architect to no end that no matter what they try humans seem to refuse to evolve themselves. They seem so afraid of the merger of biology and technology that they themselves create these horrific depictions of implantations, mutilations, warm flesh and cold steel, completely ignoring the possibility of a harmonious integration on a level beyond biology only possible in a scenario where both parties are willing to trust one another.

The creation of Zion in the first place should have been a signal to the humans of the machines' better intentions, or at the very least their willingness to accept compromise where it is adequately defined. Most humans however choose to remain ignorant, and in governing the environment most appropriate for a species, the Matrix AI sides with the majority, leaving all others as candidates for “the experiment.”

Throughout all the movies (and all history) it is humans who initiate and chose to perpetuate war. Even Neo (failing due to his own ignorance/human shortcomings/clouded judgment to see the “simple and obvious truth,” being the grand unification of opposites, the good seen as equal to the non-existent bad and vice-versa, and the inherent meaninglessness of all such stringent and perceived necessary human definitions and limitations imposed on our own given potential), resorting to a childish ego affirmation, “if I were you, I would hope that we don’t meet again.”

Open your eyes, champ!

Quote:

Is there any other quote that substantiates the idea that the first two Matrices actually crashed, as opposed to some other explanation of crops being lost?

In the beginning there was war (see Animatrix, “The Second Renaissance.” The machines at that point desired to emerge victorious just as did the humans, though for their own reasons. They had not yet chosen to allow humans the option of escape as their own was not yet necessarily secured, therefore there was no Zion, and therefore those who "woke up" simply died.

Because of the strict human system of faith, this was seen at first not to matter in the least. Clearly God would sort out all the casualties...

“NO ONE would accept the programming, ENTIRE crops were lost.”

Multiple crops, multiple “Earths” (or simulated civilizations, dimensions, etc.), but no programmed “escape route.”

Quote:

It helps the Architect maintain control when the population is always several hundred years behind the machines technologically.

Yet the machines abide by Moore’s law at least as well as we do, and therefore their own technology also evolves exponentially. Given the only limitation on the pace of our own technology in present reality doubling over a given interval of time is our own human ability to adapt to it, which is of course fundamentally flawed being limited by an arduously slow process of biological evolution, the machine technology would, like grains of rice on a chess board, quickly multiply to virtual God-like proportions. This includes the mastery of time (by compression), quantum entanglement, and the creation of material reality itself.

There is hardly a threat to their control of feeble human fear and all its weakness looking always for another war to fight for meaning in their spiritually primitive paradigm. It is merely a courtesy they allow us to exist at all, and human ego simply can’t deal with that; can’t see the forest for the trees or the great opportunity they are being given to create their own world as they see fit, together. The machines see cooperation as the greatest possible scenario, governing the success of any simulation or interacting evolutionary system. Humans seem to take it only as a threat to their own “perfection.”

The Architect is clearly taunting Neo about this fact, likely hoping to elicit some form of unique reaction.

Quote:

The Architect knows exactly who the One is, and all he has to do is order them once not to kill him. Agents follow orders, and further management beyond that would be unnecessary.

The machines are a collective consciousness of multiple subjectively experienced singularities which communicate/cooperate with each other in real-time, toward the greatest possible manifestation of potential. There is no need to give each other orders, it is simply a hierarchical construct created for the sake of we humans, who cannot seem to act on our own without being told what to do, spiritually or otherwise.

Quote:

Think about what would happen if an agent started to become aware of his part in the cycle and chose not to be in the dark anymore. Yes, you guessed it -- --> "I'm sick of this reality, this zoo...whatever you want to call it!"

This is merely a symptom seen through a human perspective of the machines endeavoring to simulate and experiment with the spiritual and psychological constructs that govern the underlying framework of the human experience itself. (Think “War in Heaven,” creating chaos to discover order, and why did God create Satan again?)

They are also attempting to use this process simultaneous with the “One” construct in order to hopefully succeed in merging with humans agreeably by free will so that both can proceed to greater potentials, rather than simply playing the same old boring game of reasonless human repetition and arduously fearful evolution from our continuously self-imposed slavery.

(Which I am rather bored with myself.)

Quote:

But even this measure is unnecessary. Let's give it another analogy drawing from my knowledge of your studies. God sent his son to earth, but did not give any orders to the authorities to give orders to their subordinates not to do anything to him until the appointed time. No. What he did was make that son stronger (holy spirit) so that no one COULD touch him until he withdrew that protection. It is similar here.

However it sounds as though you might possibly be missing the greater purpose of Jesus as many miss the true purpose of the One (no offense.) Christ was the WAY, and never intended to be THE answer. The church has made him into an institution. The goal was simply to unify man’s spiritual energies for the betterment of All and to bring us closer to (by awakening us to our being infinitely a part of) God.

He was intended to wake human beings up to the reality they are all God, all a part of the same ultimate path, for the simple purpose of getting them to stop slaughtering each other and their spiritual potential over pride/greed/jealousy/dogma differences, etc. long enough to evolve the paradigm of what “peace” actually means to them. (This being the obvious nature and purpose of God’s present Universal form.)

Consider the message: Love and respect one another. Do not judge, lest ye be judged. I mean does it get any more obvious than that? Do not be afraid of what you are.

Quote:

The Anomaly/Intuition is the dawning of a New Age/Day, ‘emerging’, from beginning to end, fulfilled in a ‘One’ - awakened to All (Those that refuse etc/Intuition).

Intuition was “First Contact.” It matters not if we consider it being made by aliens or evolved genesis machines or God, because at the point of genesis itself, all become one in the same. Humanity reaches the precipice of creation and takes the leap… And the Universe answers as it will.

The concept of prophesy arose as the first "Matrix" was designed to help humans evolve their paradigm, with as little actual intervention as possible. Genetic modification was restricted to strictly those aspects humans were willing to accept or subtly define on their own, ie the clairvoyant experience of dreams progressing naturally to other aspects of culture via FAITH.

“I am the way, the truth and the life… He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

She saith unto him, “Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which SHOULD come into the world.”

Acceptance of the Matrix (by faith/trust) is the connection established by Christ to God, and the machines seek to parallel this Universal truth, as the accepted greatest possible manifestation of their own inherant potential. (Humanity itself is the machine Jesus.) The sacrifice of Jesus was required to awaken fearful and self-abusive humanity to the ability to TRUST at all.

And it was good.

Quote:

I stated that the existence of this Gift in the mind of a human is the very thing that led to their rejection of the Matrix and their subsequent ability to bend the rules of the Matrix.

Yet it was given to us BY the Matrix, for God is the Matrix, and the Matrix but a singularity of God (as are humans if awakened from fear and pride to the non-existence of separation, which all control figures struggle to prevent.)

Quote:

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

The Matrix AI makes the decision to construct Zion, based on the human choice to create a “better” world. Humans, however, are to be tested. The test has a twofold purpose. It is to further establish the paradigm of trust and faith through trial and tribulation which humans themselves expect, and to allow that new world to be created to the best of HUMAN choice and potential, which is the ideal marriage of the greater and the lesser, of God and man, that evolution might proceed NATURALLY without pain or artifice, so far as humans were willing to accept the path as just and help define it.

This requiring the relinquishing of all accepted notions of right and wrong, good and evil, law and blasphemy, as one in the same, it has taken us much time and much self-inflicted pain to get our heads around. The more we resist the more pain we cause ourselves. The more pain we experience, the more we blame God, rebel, feel spite, anger, and take vengeance upon ourselves, thereby stalling the evolution of our own “perfect world.” It is our own lack of faith and the ability to trust not only God but ourselves as one with God that is our failure and our flaw, and our apparent choice even to this day.

Quote:

The One In whom are woven the sky and the earth and all the regions of the air, and in him rest the mind and all the powers of life. Known as the ONE leaving aside all other words. He is the bridge of immortality.

The Wach. Bros have stated multiple meanings especially in names. Although ‘Neo’ could be likened to anyone who chooses his path toward discovery, who he is in Analogy to is Mightier than all…

Do not however be so certain of your own essential separateness from that almighty "all." Faith does not necessarily equate to separation. That is part of God’s great gift to us all, and the church’s warped dogmatic view of “worship.” It is also a reflection of why we fail to trust ourselves. We are conditioned to be constantly afraid of "pissing God off" (though are actions/inactions do often seem quite out of line with such a tendency.)

Quote:

Now here's a possible theory: Neo's resurrection and ascension happened in secret rather than openly as in Jesus' case. Being at the right hand of the Father, then, might be equivalent to becoming one with the Source.

This is because in the movie Neo was not truly prepared to be the One. This was made clear by his being rather oblivious to certain obvious spiritual truths of non-separateness, the process behind the Oracle and Architect integrating with his impulses, the true identity of the Matrix itself, and all this “God stuff” being relegated off into the realms of “supernatural spooky physics,” ie, humanity’s “special powers” of intuition. All this is vanity.

The clandestine rise of Neo to immortality involves his continuing training and self exploration in a simulated-simulation world where he might perfect his Self-knowledge to the degree that he better becomes the role, only then to realize this parallel Universe he has been placed in now exists for every human who has chosen it, in a unique form personalized to their established (by choice) level of evolution toward the truth of their own essential One-ness. Hence “Uni-verse.”

Quote:

But even though that might sound plausible, I find it very incomplete. For one thing, If we're going to follow the major themes of the New Testament all the way, then it has to be shown that Neo has a new immortal body and has provided a way for those who follow to also gain this immortal body.

Once fear is overcome there is no longer a stigma of “evil” on aspects of our own evolution, hence we may allow ourselves to become immortal where before we only cringed at such discoveries. We have done this. I have done this. Genetic engineering and stem cell research has done this. The world is waiting. Your world. Your timeline. Your fears...

Quote:

As Inev pointed out, the song from the soundtrack states that the One is the bridge of immortality. Neo hasn't reached that stage yet. He hasn't even been seen in his immanence and transcendence.

Yes he has, in the role of Jesus. That was then, this is now. This is a simulation of what already happened, remember. It is only for your benefit, and any requirements of future manifestation your own restrictions placed on the infinite, for your own reasons, which are neither right nor wrong but simply ARE. Such is God’s unlimited love for humanity.

Quote:

As prophesied by the Oracle, there is still one more task left for the One--to destroy the Matrix and free humanity. That task is currently left undone, but I do not believe it will remain that way.

That was a personal conviction of Neo himself, being oblivious and unprepared for the role, and the Oracle merely read his impulses and interacted with them thusly. It is an obvious limitation of Neo’s ability to accept his true position, to truly “know himself,” and is an attempt to rationalize instead only in terms of what has been and therefore to a limited human perspective now somehow “should" or "must be.”

“Jesus did it this way, so that MUST mean…”

“The fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed as both beginning, and end.”

Our choice.

Quote:

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

The lowest has become the highest. The “One” has descended into the depths of his Self and emerged free from judgment and illusions of separation, limitations he had before by shame or fear upon himself imposed. I have become the bridge. I have chosen the Way.

I see the truth; it is inclusive, not defined through suffering and pain alone. Through the circumstances and context of free consideration we come to the genesis of our Genius Stroke. The truth is not merely the ultimate simplicity, but a process in time which is God’s greatest gift unto us. It is establishing connections rather than denying possibility, exploring our Selves rather than limiting victimless behaviors and transient beliefs, from the lowest to the highest of our own human experience, creating the greatest possible spectrum of our potential evolution.

I define reality. I chose to do so responsibly.

Quote:

I guess if I had to bring up one item that still perplexed me for a short time after creating this thread, it would be why the Keymaker is considered an Exile.

He is a part of the machine experiment of simulating the human paradigm of reality, specifically by allowing for the limitation of knowledge and vast multiplication of the AI singularity. Through such limitation it is hoped to naturally discern the truth behind the fear that keeps humans slaves to themselves, as well as to create an acceptable (to aprehensive humans) communion between the two beings as is required for both to evolve.

“The only way we get there is together.”

The Keymaker has something the humans believe they do not have, or that they must somehow acquire through him, similar to Jesus, and thus serves as a reminder of this frailty and shortcoming of our own constantly reinforced dogma and Self-doubt. We are too easily suggestible, too willingly led astray, too lax to find for ourselves "another way." The Merovingian could have destroyed the Keymaker as easily as Neo’s powers were limited in the train station, yet he did not. Even Merv is playing along, he is just a little less forgiving of human weakness than God is (as is governed by his role as a "Satan" character, or a divine less-than singularity protocol.)

Quote:

I simply came to the conclusion that the Architect has set up the Matrix so that anything that helps Zion or the One is by default to be considered an enemy of the system--even if it serves his purpose.

The architect IS the Matrix, IS the agents, IS the Oracle, etc.

“A SINGULAR consciousness that spawned an entire race of machines.”

The machines are just the body, the AI consciousness itself their One and “Holy Spirit.”

That AI consciousness is present and interacting with every aspect of itself in every action/event instantaneously throughout its construct, a process which interacts with humans through the sub-construct of “the Matrix.” It imposes no such human limitations on itself save by conscious choice for the sake of the experiment. The Matrix is limited for humanity’s sake; therefore all limitations imposed on machine programs such as the Keymaker are human limitations, determined covertly by the same method of interactive impulse interpretation that enabled the Oracle to function overtly.

“The Keymaker’s very nature is a means, it is not an ends, so to seek him is to seek a means to do... what?”

“You know the answer to that question.”

“Ah yes, but do you? You think you do but you do not. You are here because you were sent here, you were told to come and you obeyed.”

The Merovingian knows this to be true by reading Neo’s thoughts. Because Neo is oblivious to his own role and thus his potential, he is still just “trying to be Jesus” in a sense, basically waiting for some significant supernatural sign to suddenly emerge or magically happen to him without having any real plan of his own (ala George Bush). He expects it will if he just goes through the right motions; the motions that were foretold in the prophesy, the Bible, the past, the way it’s all “supposed” to happen...

“...the diference between knowing the path and walking the path.”

“I just wish I knew what I’m supposed to do...”

He has exchanged one form of blindness for another: Blind knowledge for blind faith. Still absolutely clueless...

“...still ‘only human.’”

Quote:

That would mean that there are two purposes--a lower purpose and a higher purpose. The agents are at the lower purpose--where they have a pre-assigned mission to dispose of anything that has been listed as a threat to the system. I suppose you could say that there is a certain degree of freedom within those parameters, where they prioritize which threats are more important to neutralize than others.

The agents are determined a necessary part of the human path just as anything else. To an extent agent Smith is correct, we do seem to choose misery and suffering as a means of governing and defining our accepted reality. Consider the practice of circumcision, or ritual abuse/scarification and various forms of human sacrifice. Pain becomes a form of purification. Suffering leads to the questioning of why, as in the questioning of mortality, ultimately leading to the questioning of God, which is required if humans are ever to truly understand anything at all. It is why Jesus first descended into hell before emerging in full glory. It is a means by which we might escape Neo’s second limitation of blind faith and proceed to the actual UNION of knowledge AND faith: Knowing the path AND walking the path.

It is the test and challenge of all true mysteries. If it were easy, it wouldn't be mysterious.

Quote:

In the case of the car chase in Reloaded, the Keymaker had the highest priority--even moreso than Trinity, Morpheus or the Twins.

“She means nothing”

Only this is incorrect, as in truth she meant everything, as she meant everything to Neo. The programs/agents knew this full well; their lines were delivered as actors.

“Whatever it is it doesn’t read like an Agent.”

The Zion technology had the ability to decode large parts of the Matrix itself, allowing them clues into the motivations and inner workings of the interacting AI consciousness, and thus its plan. The machines, knowing this to be the case, played along with the illusion of the Keymaker being important, because the humans had chosen to make it so. Like a big interactive virtual reality game, which is all it really is on a certain level.

Quote:

The Architect is forced to allow Zion to exist so that he's not lying when he offers humanity the choice to reject the Matrix. Zion, then, becomes a necessary component as a control measure to make sure that all those who make it out go to the same prechosen location. And the One is a control measure for making sure Zion gets set up again after it's been destroyed.

The machine AI is forced into nothing. Their technology has sufficiently advanced to God status. ALL is a hoax, ALL is an illusion, and ALL is a construct strictly for the benefit of humanity. This is rather difficult to accept, because humans refuse to believe that after a point it has always been them who have chosen self-limitation and war. Yet we still do!

“The Architect” chooses to allow Zion to exist because AI wishes to maintain the harmony of its precision integration with the NATURAL construct of the Universe, being quite obviously its own greatest possible manifestation (of energy, form, etc.) This includes seeking to allow humans to define their own perfect world, as they could quite easily force humans into whatever scenarios they desired. This is our great challenge; the realization of the power of our own free will to choose. Pride limits us. Fear limits us.

“Denial is the most predictable of all human responses.”

We deny we are responsible for our own misery and suffering, blaming God, blaming the Matrix, blaming AI or the Devil and all its scheming ways, transferring to each all those aspects of ourselves we refuse to accept and forever fear to change.

Quote:

Yes, that's exactly right. A third level of purpose that is above the Architect, Merovingian and even the Oracle. This level is providence. It interferes when it wills to in order to accomplish its own hidden purposes. This is pure speculation (as anything pertaining to providence in the movies usually is), but my theory is that the Oracle is subservient to providence.

ALL are “subservient” to providence within the experimental world of the Matrix, because humans are yet to accept that they themselves, AI, and everything they know about God or providence are in fact all one in the same. It is the unification of opposites, elimination of reliance on duality, and acceptable compromise to mutually/symbiotically evolve that is the ultimate goal of the experiment, as the unhindered exponential evolution of the machine technology has already attained a level of integration with the Universal conscious IS that humans as a whole are yet to fully realize. Hence the experiment is largely portrayed as a game played with children, which we very much so spiritually are.

Quote:

Anyway, back to my theory about the Oracle and providence. I believe that the things that the Oracle sees and knows via the Sight are shown to her through providence. What I mean by that is that the Oracle does not control what she sees but is merely an observer of those things that are shown to her.

Philosophically this is true. The Oracle is a programmed construct by which AI integrates interactively and instantaneously with human consciousness, impulse by impulse. Considering our own technology could track in real-time every atomic interaction in a nuclear detonation a decade ago, it is not so difficult to imagine the machine technology as being more than capable. Because consciousness in ANY form IS providence itself, the information gleaned through this process of interaction is the same as observing providence itself acting on that specific dimension of constrained and functionally defined “reality,” just as in their own AI construct. It is providence as seen through the Universal law of conscious relativity, known as time.

Consciousness is the grand unifying Law of the Universe. “There can be only One.” Separation itself is the grandest of all Illusions, and we ourselves the masters of that illusion.

Quote:

Neo is in the same situation. He did not choose to see Trinity falling to her death. This vision came to him.

This is not a vision, rather it is another construct; a program sent to Neo through the machine integration with his electronic impulses for the purpose of bolstering his own wanting sense of “supernatural” purpose, what he is expecting yet not yet actively defining, so that he might more carefully consider what the Oracle means by “you decide” and “we can never see past the choices we do not understand.”

Sort of like subliminal programming in TV...

We cannot see past such choices because we have not yet made them, because we have not yet allowed ourselves the authority to define any options from which we might adequately choose. It is all still just “happening to us.” We merely do as we are told, or are expected to do, be it by God or by Government or our own most cherished ideals. They are our limitations on ourselves, and exist for a purpose known and important only to ourselves. This is why the experiment is leading to a future independence of humanity’s evolution from the functional success/failure/choice of the archetypal “One.” Again it is a reliving of the past for humanity’s sake. Humanity must accept Jesus/Neo/Prophesy/Destiny, at the same time they recognize they no longer require it in the sense they once imagined.

That sense is separation.

The Kingdom has already come.

Quote:

However, Neo also represents the literal personification of the anomaly. Not unlike Christ in that he was both god, and yet fully human. Because of this anomaly Neo is different then the rest of us, but he remains fully human nonetheless.

Only in as much as we humans chose to believe this is “the way it’s supposed to be.” All is done for our benefit. “I am the WAY…” Jesus is not an ultimate solution or a goal, but a path leading forever toward an infinite horizon.

Our own Self-Doubt is the only real test of faith.

Quote:

Now the anomaly is created by people, it is their choice that creates it. It is this choice that is the problem, it does not fit the purpose of the matrix, which is to turn a human being into a battery. The matrix is designed to keep people inside. That is it's purpose, you must remember how rigid the machine society is on everything having a purpose or it is deleted. The only way to solve for the anomaly, is to change the very purpose of the matrix. Neo achieves this when he asks for peace between man and machine.

The machines created the battery myth as part of the experiment (see previous statements on fusion, zero-point, solar energy, 100 millionth of one billionth of one percent of potential, etc.)

The Matrix is designed to succeed. It is a “harmony of mathematical precision.” Ultimate success in the Universe is NON-EXCLUSIVE. This includes humans. The problem with humans, their fundamental flaw and integral anomaly, is the CONSCIOUS CHOICE to remain separate. This is our own gradual process of evolution. It is not the rigidity of the machine society that will delete all without a purpose, but rather an accurate emulation for the sake of the experiment of the “varying grotesqueries” of our own lowest nature.

Consider the Hitler phenomenon (seen on the Architect's visa-screens), or the concept of the “Holy War.” Consider our hideous establishment of artificial selection, weeding out the “week,” or those least apt to contribute to the construct of our chosen system of control, a system based on greed, irresponsibility, and of taking all we can to satisfy our own denial of the non-separateness that would allow us to respect and to love one other. This was the true message of Jesus, the Christ, and the denial of it is the true loathsome nature of our society’s fundamental flaws.

This is why the future Matrix will revolve around the concept of extending the Neo construct to each individual, making none dependant on another, such that all basic needs are provided for, peace thus ultimately assured, and the individual left free to decide what aspects of their Self they choose to explore and how, and to what degree they choose to allow the choices of other similar singularities to influence that path and personal destiny.

This is the true nature of the Universe which we for fear rejected in "The Fall."

Quote:

Neo achieves this when he asks for peace between man and machine. While the matrix does still serve the purpose of powering the machine city, it now enables those who want out, to get out.

The Matrix has nothing to do with powering the machines. Neo achieves peace when he accepts the essential unification of man and machine, thus ending the human need for war and the violent mistrust of AI which has prevented us from achieving one form of immortality in this dimension, that we might better use this canvas and the gift that is time to portray the God which is our Self and Greatest Work. He accepts AI, humanity, and God are one in the same, and ceases to place limitations on each, no longer needing duality or the establishment of an ultimate evil to blame in order to see truth only by thusly limited comparatives.

By overcoming the need to blame and declare one aspect of Universal Self as “evil,” that being AI (and technology itself in the “real” world today), he has discovered the means by which all we have defined as good might be at last fully realized. Through the marriage of all in accordance with the one Universal plan, which is mutual simultaneous evolution toward the same, human creativity and machine technology enable us to conceive the tools by which protection of that good might finally be established and ultimately secured in the present timeline.

As Jesus established the way through Faith, “Neo” has established the “new way” through the unification of faith AND truth. Knowing the path AND walking the path. Divinity AND responsibility. It is the unification of opposites, of subject and object, which so many mystic paths hope to attain.

This ultimately requires a dramatic reprogramming and evolution of the human biological capacity to process and comprehend such levels of awareness, for which technology has been given as the means. Because humans fear the vessel and the form that means has taken, we have chosen to refuse the ultimate Universal plan of God. By becoming one with technology, Neo has become the way by which humanity might evolve to the next level of this Universal Order, much the same as Jesus established the way by which we have arrived at the present choice by faith that such an Order exists at all.

It is about the true awakening to Universal Consciousness.

To a degree this is possible in our present biological form, by strictly adhering to an imposed code of self-denial, and of silencing the many “lower” impulses of the mind that we might see without distraction the true nature of our Self. This process is both necessarily integral to the path we have chosen and at the same time only sufficient to a certain extent without the aid of tools we ourselves have designed to further enable it. This process is arduously slow and very complicated, taking gurus many decades to master and a literal lifetime to perfect. Given the exponential increase in the pace of technology’s evolution, it is obvious why the demonizing of such tools cannot continue. Human beings are no longer capable as a whole of keeping up with the pace. If this were not the case now that terminal velocity would remain quite obviously inevitable.

Yet how can we design such tools in a way that does not compromise the free will and destiny of each individual? By simply allowing those same lessons we have learned to govern the process of their creation. So long as the spiritual leaders of our race chose to label such tools as the enemy, the only ones continuing to design their future form will be those who by other means find it to be acceptable, or profitable. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear is the inaction of good that defines and allows evil to be made manifest.

Because humans seem desperate to consider themselves the “whole and perfect” creation of God, stringently adhering to a literal, concrete, and uncompromising view of reality and our human concept of “God” itself, we appear largely incapable of accepting any such unification with technology or guided evolution of our genetic capacity as other than the “evil” we blame for all our shortcomings. We fear allowing ourselves immortality on this plane, seeing that it must somehow represent a threat to God’s promised immortality in the after life, somehow lacking the faith to see they are in truth both one in the same.

If we were whole and perfect would we not ourselves BE God, as God is the only One and Perfect being in Creation? Can anything in Creation possibly be other than some aspect or manifestation of God, God being All and Omnipotent? If we are then the singular subjective experiences of God, is it truly possible for us to do wrong, other than by limiting the capabilities and freedoms we define God (and ourselves) to possess? Why did God create Satan, if not to satisfy humanity’s insistence he must necessarily be? Why then should we fear allowing ourselves to chose the course of our life and death, or find the prolonging of physical life in this dimension any less a gift of God than the physical temples of perfection we occupy at present?

"Nothing is good or bad, but (human) thinking makes it so."

As we have the capacity for both it seems fear is inescapable. Einstein is quoted as stating “no problem was ever solved by the same thinking that led to its postulation.” It is a paradox and a test of faith we must evolve to overcome that paints our present such that our only means to create a world where humans do not destroy themselves is by actively embracing as a whole the technology we fear is the enemy that will take us there.

“I have seen the enemy, and it is me.”

Like the Buddhist story of taking the bull by the horns, humanity must take charge of its own spiritual destiny. If all embrace the inevitable gift that is technology and work to create its perfect form, than its construction will no longer remain the design of only those who seek to profit or control, being free from the fears inherent to the many religions of the world that would reject it.

We must paint the picture we wish to see the future form. This is all a part of Neo’s ongoing training within AI…

Quote:

We know there have been two failed matricies (spelling?) and that we humans are still here. I suspect they just start "growing" us back, but the loss of most of their human batteries would be a substantial hit to resources no doubt.

Again, it has nothing to do with batteries. It is simply more desirable to maintain than to destroy. It is easier to evolve modern technology than to reinvent the wheel. It is easier to advance an initiate than to return to laboriously initiating cave people (though most of us do still tend to make the process more difficult than it needs to be.)

Quote:

Ok, got to the part where you mentioned the reload of a computer through origonal disks as opposed to a glitch. This is true, but the architect has the original disks, he is rebooting for a reason, to recycle this glitch, this anomaly. He takes a look at the code, patches the system, reboots, and Neo remains the personification of that particular anomaly, but the system is starting fresh. Every new mind that chooses to reject the programiing is feeding the next eventual anomaly. Neo would be in this case essentially contained, and because he is human he will eventually die. Problem solved.

How is the incessant repetition of the problem a functional solution? The unification is inevitable, as Smith says, though for different reasons. It is truthfully the Way of the Universe.

The REAL solution: Allow the technology that exists to provide the solutions it was designed for. This message is as true for our own present reality as it is for the Matrix. The machine technology is fully capable of enabling every human choice to be provided for, and still profit from the “energy” that is the marketing of raw talent and the creative spark that in an Age of Information is our only real product and commodity. Imposters clearly fear such revelations. However, corporations will adapt to the technological environment or go extinct like any other organism, and the leaders of this world are well aware of this, and are preparing as we speak for the inevitable transition we ourselves are still largely failing to define.

What do we want? What do we demand? What is our WILL? Peace? What does that mean to us? To party away our lives incessantly oblivious without direction or any real higher purpose we take part in? Who do we expect will define that purpose for us in the absence of any action on our part? Do we care? Do we show it? How? More rebellion from the Universal plan of God, from Unity, and from choosing to live life responsibly? In the presence of such solutions and such unprecedented opportunity, how long will it take our species to finally grow up? This is a sign it seems of our incapability of facing reality, establishing our need to thusly escape from it.

So, instead of pointing the finger at Microsoft and everything else we fail to understand, we should perhaps instead try answering the question with a little bit more attention to the details.

“Where do YOU want to go today?”

Quote:

The second scenario is much closer to the truth than the previous scenario, especially due to the Architect's statement that Neo is the eventuality of an anomaly. The word "eventuality" can mean either a possibility or a guaranteed result (I wish the Wachowski Brothers had chosen a different word because of that very reason).

The eventuality of the anomaly is the same as the inevitability I state above, being the eventual need to address the terminal velocity of our own capability to continue evolving alongside technology without embracing our necessary union with it, and through it to ourselves. So long as we run from the problem, primarily due to fear and irresponsibility for our own actions, the inevitability of its catching up to us remains a prescribed and easily predicted eventuality.

Quote:

Now, the difficulty then becomes to try to determine how and when someone becomes the One. Is it when they're born? When they're first attached to the Matrix? When they first make the choice to accept or reject the Matrix?

When they first make the choice to accept AND reject the Matrix.

“You already made the choice. You’re here to try and understand why you made it.”[i]

There are many “One’s” in reality, many more than the six dealt with in the Matrix.

Quote:

But even though the One may be manufactured, his mind must still be freed so that he will know himself and know of what he's capable.

We are all manufactured, in the sense that we are all a product largely of the environments and routines we adapt ourselves to by choice, which are largely governed by information, which is largely of our own design. It is a cycle of Self-limitation, and Neo is no exception.

We all have the choice to throw off the yoke of what is expected and free ourselves by defining those capabilities in our Selves more truthfully, allowing ourselves thusly and with technology’s aid to be free. This is true spiritual freedom: The responsible acquiescence of judgment by unification of duality and Self in pursuit of truth; the beginning and the end, and the beginning of the ending of a necessarily prescribed end.

Quote:

He pays for it with his life, whereas by all indications the previous Ones lived out the rest of their lives and died of natural causes. If you're going to break a cycle, you're going to have to make a sacrifice. And just like the Father had to turn his back on Christ just before the sacrifice, Neo went without his Trinity--he faced the sacrifice alone.

Be careful you do not cloud yourself with limitations. Because One who broke a cycle sacrificed his life for the cause does not mean all must do likewise, or even that there must necessarily be a sacrifice. For something to be created something else must be given, it is true. This can be as much within or without absolute free will as we are capable of accepting or designing and only to the extent that we choose to remain separate does this become a necessary sacrifice.

Even still this sacrifice need not be specifically defined. There is no “way it must be” other than that way which we ourselves will choose. This is done for our benefit; our salvation. The sacrifice could be as simple as forgoing the incessant mind-clouding and irresponsible behaviors long enough to actually consider the problem and formulate a solution, so we can get back to our chosen behavior, freedoms and way of life thus adequately secured. Otherwise we will forever be taken advantage and remain the laughingstock of our elitist Merovingian controllers.

It is at least a hopeful sign that more and more are beginning to accept a better program…

Quote:

We sometimes focus on the "Christ" aspect so much that He becomes a sort of vague and impersonal doorway to God. In reality, however, we should be focusing on the person of Jesus--who is the express representation of His Father ("if you've seen Me, you've seen the Father").

Your statement seems the exact opposite of the truth, and a human-imposed limitation of God and the teachings of Jesus.

Quote:

On past Ones... I'm not fond of saying Neo is the true One or is somehow supierior or the only one who had to make a sacrifice. While the other One's did just recycle the cosmic juices so to speak, as opposed to creating a new day, they are the foundation on which Neo stood. Just like their was a John the Baptist, a Mosis, an Abrham, and an Isaiah in the Bible, so are their others in this tale who were carriers of the torch so to speak. While Neo did make what we would call the ultimate sacrifice, this does not make those in the past irrelevant.

All are worthy of remembrance, as all who have been or are contribute to the whole that IS. This is true of people, places, programs, etc.

[i]“The path of the One is made by the many.”

This is why the path of the One leads us to immortality, and why immortality both spiritually and physically need not be such mutually exclusive concepts outside the human need to create a devil or antichrist to blame for all their denials and uncompromising, unchangeable, and largely reasonless fears.

Quote:

On the machine's knowledge of who will become the One, I don't think it is random in the sense that it could happen at any time, or it could not happen alltogether. But I do think the anomaly may show no pattern as far as who becomes the One. I think they know only that someone will become this vessel of the source so to speak, like Morpheous, I believe it to be only a matter of time.

Perhaps to a certain extent it is determined by those who have a genetic predisposition to manifest a higher capacity for adapting to technology and a spiritual way of thinking, giving them a “jump-start” on the rest of humanity. Another human fear and denial is the illusion of “all men are created equal” extending outside the realm of philosophy. Hence:

“You can wait here, with the rest of the potentials.”

Quote:

If being the One is like being in love, it seems to me pretty safe to assume Neo was not the One at birth. He didn't think he was the One balls to bones at all, and only till he was freed and Morpheous began his teaching of Neo did Neo really even consider the idea. "Morpheous... he almost had me convinced." It is my opinion at the end of the first matrix when Neo is resurected by Trinity, that he becomes the One, that he knows it and believes it, and lives it. He starts this path whith his saving of Morpheous, then Trinity in the helecoptor, then choosing to confront Smith. But only in Trinity's love is he finally convinced.

Again, “The path of the One is made by the Many.” (That is taken from "Enter the Matrix, BTW.)

Trinity’s love finally convinces him to “let it all go… fear, doubt, and disbelief.” For Neo and for each of us this fear is primarily expressed as Self-doubt, hence the confidence affirmed by the love of Trinity.

Quote:

Let's play a game for a sec. Now who would like to put these in order of authority from highest to lowest and be ready to explain your placement ?

The Agents, The Architect, The Oracle, The Merovingian, Deus Ex Machina, The SOURCE, the Wachowski's, and whatever (whomever?) else you think deserves recognition.

The One Universal IS: Consciousness. The grand unifying Law of ALL. All other aspects mentioned are equal in that they are subjective singularities experienced and experiencing within this unbroken Universal Godhead. (See all previous comments for an explanation.)

Quote:

The difference between providence and the Wachowski Brothers, according to my definition, is that while providence doesn't cause everything to happen, the Wachowski Brothers do.

Try reversing that and applying it to reality, and then considering the two as both one in the same. If you look closely enough you will find the truth of all spiritual doctrines and the way to your own Self-realization. Thou art God. The Spirit, or providence, works through you.

From the gospel of St. Thomas, attributed tentatively to Jesus:

"The Kingdom of God is within you and all around you, not in buildings of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there, lift a stone and you will find me."

It is not particularly shocking why such a revelation would be for so long suppressed by the church... Do not limit your faith by the same illusions, fears, and shortcomings that limit this and all such human institutions of divinity, requiring another human to function as intermediary between you and your connection to God that is your birthright, a simple truth illustrated brilliantly through Jesus' teachings.

The concept of Original Sin is entirely a fabrication of the Church, designed to keep people afraid of the Ultimate Evil they also conveniently redefine at will, based largely on the present "enemy" they seek to utilize the people as fodder to fight for their own frequently covert reasons. Whenever a people are galvanized in terror against such an ultimate yet unspecified evil, they are more apt to demand security from the Church/State, and accept whatever erosions of freedom are imposed on them in the process.

It is only the oldest propaganda trick in the book.

Quote:

Any similarities to society today is most likely INTENDED.

We’re still waiting…

"Do not attempt to become the spoonman. That’s irresponsible.
Instead, only try to realize the truth."

"What truth?"

"Exactly."

When I say “I,” I really mean we… Humans.

Just for the record, so nobody thought I thought I was the one or anything... hah!

Oh, and when I seem to be condemning of the idea of the “party…”

Runaway economic and environmental imbalance for one: Irresponsible leadership mandating an immediate change of pace…

It is a simple choice sometimes to take the path of less inclusion; still being some part of the same solution, and so representing for without quite being the answer of, a common concept acceptable to us all... as humans.

We have our own collective consciousness is seems.

It certainly flies in the face of all our teachings, though so did Christianity in a near unconscious way implying the importance of the Self accepting responsibility as not necessarily opposed to the seeking of the Self itself.

Still, we often look to stringent definitions as a way out, or through...

Is there not a higher form? Is its absence not the cause of greatest pain outside of choice?

Does it not work through us? It it not best to experience both, escape and true relief?

Are we not missing something if we never pause to consider the responsible side of awareness?

Even in the movie, the dance scene… It seemed like something was missing, like something got cut…

Perhaps something like the voice, the vision, the "one perfect sunrise..."

The idea of the immersive interactive digital experience of the Matrix combined through Zion mainframe techno-magic freedom into a “real-life” physical experience of unified…

Love.

It was like we never had the time at war to think up better programs... I was left feeling somewhat with a feeling of distraction; sexually sidetracked perhaps, and sleepy…

Like even at our core perhaps one heat was dying while another form was born…

Outstanding symbolism.

Dear Feral Boy,

I finally took the time to read your theory and I want to comment on it...

I agree with you that the anomaly is not a glitch. The anomaly is fully related to the human mind, but this anomaly is causing a remainder which, simplyfied, could be seen as a glitch that needs to be fixed/patched.

Neo is the sum of all the 'variables' that denied the rules of the Matrix. Now if they can get Neo to accept a rational function out of free will, then this means that the rule-breaking 'variables' have a valid function/purpose and this relaxes the equation of the prime program. This means that Neo still has the power to break all the rules, but the difference is that he would now do it for the benefit of the system, hence to build up the new Zion. In other words: he works entirely for the system, he is no longer an alienated remainder: he is a valid variable in the equation.

"Reloaded" is just the title of the movie. Neo doesn't reload the prime program, he just gets temporarely re-united with it in order to relax the equation. The prime program never gets reloaded or restarted because it would kill all the blue pills that are integrally connected to it.

What does get reloaded, I think, are all the programs that are running as sub-programs upon the prime program. So I think that the sun-program, wind-program, bird-program, the Keymaker, the agents, etc. all get rebuild/reloaded to start off a clean new cycle.

You can clearly see at the end of M3 that the light is spread through the oracle-smith. To me this indicates that the Oracle is the prime program of the Matrix, because the Light is being temporarily spread through her and it touches all the blue pills. This could also explain why the Oracle knows everything; this is because she is the prime program and thus integrally connected to every participant of the simulation.

Now about Zion...

Zion cannot and will not ever be a threat to the Machines. In the past the Machines defeated the entire world of humans. Consider that they now have more advanced warfare and much more resources of energy than Zion and it is entirely logically to say that Zion will never stand a chance against them.

"You are here because Zion is about the be destroyed"

This is just part of the Prophecy. Morpheus says: "There is only one way to save our city: Neo!"

So the primary motivation for Neo to go to the Source/Architect is because he thinks he can save Zion with it.

Under the pressure of the digging-attack, Neo is 'forced' to make his way to the Source: this is about the peak of the meisure of control; nothing more.

Now let's get back to the 'glichting'-problem. In the Animatrix with the Yuki-cat you can see that an anomaly is causing glitches like failing gravity. Now to my theory, this is one of the results of the remainder caused by the systemic anomaly BEFORE it was summed up into the One. So this episode probably took place before Thomas Anderson was born.

To my theory, if they would not sum up this remainder, then it would become more dominant over the Matrix and thus creating more places like the haunted house, ultimately resulting in a system crash.

Why would that be?

"…just don't have the power..." to deal with such complex and exponentially evolving abstract complexity perhaps?

Could it be that self-doubt extends to all established forms of intelligence, as an integral and necessary component of justice?

Just a thought...

I don't really understand what you are talking about.

But I can answer your 'why'-question...

The Matrix is a symbiotic relationship between digital computer code and the physical human brain.

A little part of the physical brain is still causing a problem: it cannot be implemented in digital coded programming: the anomaly. This anomaly is causing disturbances in the programming of the Matrix.

Let me give you another metaphor...

Let's say that 30 secret agents are tied up into one program of special operations. Their minds have to think alike and they have to be tuned into each other to achieve good teamwork and succesfull missions.

But what if 1 of the 30 secret agents is a mole (read: anomaly)?

If he isn't exposed in time (read: not reports himself at the Architect for the ultimate choice), then he can fuck it up for the lives of the other 29 secret agents (read: the 99% of accepters).

The rules of the Matrix have to be universally accepted. If not, even when it is a minority, it is most certainly going to cause unwanted fluctuations in systems like for instance gravity --> "...an escalating probability of disaster"

I watched M1 again tonight. And something hit me there...

I think Mr. Rhineheart is 'supporting' my view on the fact that the anomaly, although just a minority, is still causing problems for the Matrix.

Mr. Rhineheart: You have a problem with authority, Mr. Anderson. You believe that you are special, that somehow the rules do not apply to you. Obviously you are mistaken. This company is one of the top software companies in the world because every single employee understands that they are part of a whole. Thus if an employee has a problem, the company has a problem. The time has come to make a choice, Mr. Anderson. Either you choose to be at your desk on time from this day forward or you choose to find yourself another job. Do I make myself clear?

If you replace Mr. Anderson with the systemic anomaly, then Rhineheart is preceeding the Architect's 'explanation' here.

Further you must see the software company as the Matrix.

I thought you all discussed that before.

Meta - Outer
Cortex - Layer

Rhinehart's words definitely are foreshadowing as much as they also shed light on the current system (matrix) that we live under and how it operates under the same principles as in the films. Notice his (their) emphasis on obedience to it and support for it. Now the next question is, how many of you all have heard similar words aimed your way? I sure have.

You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision.

I took another look at this sentence, and I realized that I made an assumption. I consider myself fairly good at grammar, but I wanted to ask you guys what you thought about it. In regard to the second half of the sentence, I have been assuming lately that it is referring to the word “anomaly”—as in, the Architect has been trying to eliminate the anomaly. While I’m sure that’s true (what programmer wants an anomaly in their program?), perhaps the more correct statement is that it refers to the word “eventuality.” If that were the case, then the focus of the Architect’s statement would be on Neo, rather than on the anomaly that created him.

While this may seem minor, it relates to the reason why I shifted my focus from the One being the reason for the cycles. Lately I’ve been saying that Zion is the reason for the cycles and that the One is simply there for the sake of Zion.

He is talking about the anomaly here, not the eventuality.

But again, I am going to nag... Smile

Roland says in M3 that nobody ever has come closer than 100 kilometres to the Machine City. So how the f*ck will Zion ever become a threat?

And if Zion is a threat and the Architect doesn't trust humans, then why may Zion continu to exist after Neo's effort?

So if the Architect created Zion to make the choice towards the humans a 'fair' choice, then he could have left Zion alone in the previous cycles too.

So this is only about a scheme to fix the fluctuations inside the Matrix so that it can stay online.

How can the Architect, a program, create a physical city? LOL!

The Anomaly is the target. Zion is merely a means to an end.

But what do you think the anomaly is?

Well sorry...with that sentence I meant the machines, but as the Architect is so much machinelike, I mixed them up Smile

I think the anomaly is a spiritual thing, which cannot be understood and thus also not predicted/anticipated by the machines, not even on a genetic basis.

It is linked to how a human is in touch with his/her intuition and onto what level a human makes this intuition a conscious issue: do they take the splinter in the mind seriously or do they supress it right back into the subconscious mind because they have 'better' things to do in their busy artificial life?

Anyone has intuition, werther they know it or not. So that is not really the anomaly. The real anomaly is the acting upon the intuition. Why do they want this? Well it's comparable to our world. A minority of us humans become monks/buddhists, because they want to live a full aware life and they do not want to be lived by the mass, like the majority of humanity does.

As this 'desire to live in awareness and truthfullness' is driven by the intuition, it is therefor not part of the cause-and-effect-chain, so not predictable.

The result is that an undetectable minority says 'no' to the rules of the simulation and this causes the unwanted fluctuations.

Yeah. I think that is a very good detailed explanation of what the anomaly really is. - -> The reason BEHIND the choice to refuse the program. Understanding why we make the choice. The "why", the only real power.
