Constintine was good in my opinion not because Keanu was in it ,but because the concept, story and action was badass.
The only thing that kinda didn't fit in was that Lucifer was some old bald guy. It would've been cooler if he was younger with a sort of build body like the devil from the first Prophecy movie.
But besides that it was pretty good.

I don't have any complaints about Keanu Reeves portrayal of the role I just don't agree with the metaphysical paradigm so I lost interest in the movie.

Weatern culture is based on the heaven/hell paradigm of the metaphysical reality but THE MATRIX implied reincarnation with the return of a man that could manipulate the matrix.

The word hell is no in the Bible. The Old Testament is Hebrew and Aramaic. It is the word SHEOL which is mistranslated as HELL. Cruden's Concordance says it means "dwelling place of spirits" or "abode of the dead."

I think Lucifer was depicted perfectly.

Old as being a 'wiser' angel that has been around for a long time and dressed in white because angels, wingless or not, are dressed in white!

Further more his body was half rotting, which perfectly depicts his state of being. He is rotting while he is disconnected fully from God and he will rot fully when he 'looses' his bet to God.

Indeed! There is no real hell. Bad people will stay close to earth as spirits and they will never taste the enlightening feeling of the higher vibrational spheres.

By reincarnation they get new chances to 'escape' from being earthbound.

But further the concept of the story was great.

Satan's son being the unbalancer and Constantine being the savior who restores the balance by self-sacrifice! It makes me think about the Matrix trilogy!

I'm supprised he didn't get the roll for Jesus in The Passion of Christ So he stars as John Constantine, a character that resembles a saint that earns his wings.

I think it was not the industry.

It's a sign from 'god' himself. It was meant to be!

he met God in Bill and Ted 2 so mabye that was when god decided about keanus future?

Well I don't know.

What I do know that there are many (little) references in different movies that indicated that he was going to play Neo.

So I believe it was predestined.

"Point Break": at the end Keanu fights with a somewhat equal counterpart on the beach. The fight is heavy and inside a rainstorm --> super burly brawl

"Sweet November": he gets blindfolded with a scar by his girlfriend and the damn think looks exactly like the blindfold he wheres when he is blind in M3.

"Devil's Advocate": he does the Jezus thing!

"Constantine": he does the Jezus thing again and also creates a balanced situation with it

"Little Buddha": it is said that he says "oh great Architect!" in this movie!

"The Watcher": as a psycho Keanu kills someone in a building. This shot reminds me of the shadowed battle he has with Smith when Smith just said: "purpose of life is to end!"

I am sure that there must be more, but I don't remember them right now
