I think he does the role of constantine better than he does Neo, he gives you the feel he is one you dont want to mess with, even tho he bearly fights anyone at the begining

i was pleasantly suprised by keanu in constantine...given that the original character is supposed to be a lanky ginger headed scotsman...but i guess that isn't "cool" enough for hollywood

decent film though...better than i expected

A MAJOR,FULL ON BRONSON

ARE YOU KIDDING? I'm sorry, I LOVE Keanu, Speed is an awesome movie, so is Devil's Advocate (Keanu's best role IMO) BUT Constantine sucked ASS! They tried to do this religious storyline with action and stuff, and god it just didn't mix... it sucked so much! It was NOT like Matrix at all if that's what you might think Splinter.

PLEASE I beg of you, save yourself the pain and NOT sse this movie...

What? You dissapoint me Venus Wink

It was a little like the Matrix, because it was about achieving a balance and about sacrifize which Keanu does again!

It's very interesting that Keanu has alot of roles where he sacrifizes himself to bother the devil or some other anti-christ.

He does it in the Devil's Advocate
He does it in the Matrix
And he does it in Constantine.

Constantine is a great movie if you are interested in logic combined with the occult.

I'm sorry, but I expected SO much more... I LOVE religious philisophical movies, and I guess after loving Matrix so much, it just seemed like a bad combonation of Matrix and the Prophecy (which I LOVE that trilogy also). But maybe why I hate it so much is that they threw in religous references to make it seem like it has a story... ehh it sucked for me. And I thought it bombed at the box office too... maybe that's my imagination though.

I think it didn't became a hit because people don't understand it and it is not an overdoze of action like they may have expected.

When I watched it the first time it was a little strange for me too. But now that I have watched it three times it all makes perfect sense and is a very good movie.

I love how they depicted Lucifer in white, while mostly they do him in black or red. After all from origin he is an angel, so in white is correct.

It sure is worth watching ... it's a decent movie.

About the miscast issue : I guess that comment is about the deviation between the movie character and the comic book character

But I don't think this is due to miscasting, but merely shows the adaptation doesn't strictly follows the personality/character of the comic book.

Equality and freedom are not luxuries to lightly cast aside.

Keanu just rocks. People are just jealous of his acting talent, his looks and his bank account.

Jealousy makes them want to critisize him.

But he is nearly perfect!

Well said! Jealousy has to be the reason for the criticism, I for one see nothing wrong with his acting Razz
There's also the slight advantage of him being great looking. Razz

Keanu, plays John Constantine brilliantlly. you are right in what tou said mobil_ave, and i have noticed it as well, Keanu alwasys takes on movies that are about balance, ie the matrix, constantine, sweet november, and a few others.

Yeah, I agree with you there, that's one thing they got right. I liked how they portrayed Lucifer... Thumbup

I just found out one thing I can't get past in this movie. It's based on a freakin' comic book! I'm sorry, but I'm sick of all the comic book knock-off movies. Spiderman was enough, they didn't need all those others... and Constantine, although not a typical super hero thing, you can still see the comic book influence there.

And one thing to note, not just on the Constantine subject but in general. Just because they make a sequal of a movie does NOT mean it was a good movie... just something to think about.

If done right venus comic books made into movie can work out. Yes Spiderman was good and so was constantine, but the oters like the hulk and the fantasic 4, daredevil and so forth were crap, and i was disapointed because im a big read of comics and they just ruined them.

im sorry but only certain comics/heros should be made into movie in the future.

I'm not saying ALL comic book movies are crap, just MOST of them. LOL.... Whitelaugh I love the first two Batman movies, but the ones after Batman Returns just suck. I haven't seen Batman Begins though... I also heard it sucked but I can't say.

Yeah, Spiderman was very good, awesome acting IMO. But... Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic 4? COME ON people! Get some new ideas... Thumbdown

I love this film

and Although Keanu didn't changed his expression alot in this movie, his voice was real good in this. the voice of a pissed off heavy smoker.
The way he shouts in this movie is just great
